The radiation of the sun, burned my eyes, I took two steps, away from the window and fell on my bed with my right hand placed on my fore head. I pondered for a while, and suddenly I heard a knock on my door,I jerked upward and sat up straight, but before I could stand up, my door flung wide open and in came my mother with an angry look on her face, like she had found her prey.

"you must"she said, fully aware of what she meant I quickly disagreed

"I musn't"
and there, she flamed up reminding me of the fact that I needed to attend a university.I crossed my arms over my chest and inhaled deeply as I walked out from my room towards the stairs.
While on the stairs, these familiar voice constantly resounded these words in my head

"education is the only way,if I went through it, your dad went through it and now your sister's going through it then you must go through it".

"Mom please, my name is Rachel, not Eric not Vivian and definitely not Kate"I screamed, before sitting on the sofa in the living room, apparently my mum didn't give up she continued ranting until Kate which happens to be my elder sister ran out from the kitchen to calm her down and insisted on making her a cup of coffee mummy's girl,I whispered within me .kate was the exact description of a perfect daughter and I wasn't.

Yawning against my palm I sit back so relaxed as I wait for my Jamb tutor, to come tutor me as usual.
apparently she was my 10th jamb tutor in five years,"yeah" that's how long .after a while I stared at the Government Jamb past question in front of me,looking at it only made me hate to try again, honestly frustration and discouragement lingered within me .I knew I had lost the yearn to further my education the moment I failed my first Jamb .I just kept scoring below 70, don't know if they didn't always finish marking my script.too bad my parents weren't believers of diploma and direct entry. hmmm

"looks like someone decided to start without me"

I raised my head up to notice the thin black lady using a medicated glass and putting on a purple shirt above a plain black skirt which virtually announced her curves ,I needed to buy one of those hip pads, kate once told me it didn't cost much but she never mentioned an amount.

"Hello Earth to Rachel" she muttered, I gazed a little bit higher so our eyes could meet .she pulled the sit from the table and sat opposite me.

"eh ehmm"

I cleared my throat and stared downwards .she started her tutoring and it only got bored and bored and more bored, did I forget to mention it was really boring?

After three hours of complete boredom I hit the kitchen, grabbed some launch and headed over to vikki's place in other to move for choir rehearsals, mum and dad were okay with the fact that I was in the choir, at least it made me look useful since I was functioning in a department of the church, they loved it, cause apparently I was the only member of the Jack's family who functioned in a department at church

"Rachel"Vikki screamed, as she came out of her house all dressed up in a blue chivon top a white skirt black beret a white hand bag hanging over her hand and a pair of black cute sandals to match I pulled her from her porch and led her out of her vicinity "always late" I sighed as I let go off her hand. Vikki smiled at me and hit my beret off my head

"who's late now" she said as she made away speedily ahead of me .I bent a little to the ground and picked up my beret, dusted out the sand on it and raced after her, the race ended at the gate of the church,we both stopped at the gate and breathing out heavily while placing our hands on our knees, we had always been like this since we became friends at secondary school till we graduated, I guess she just understood me the same way I understood my self.I wouldn't call her my best friend but she was right there in that neighbourhood. she opened the gate and looked back at me

"your going to be punished"

she muttered, while
she hurriedly opened the gate and settled inside the church premises and shut the gate. I knocked the gate open and ran in to meet up with the rehearsals.

Time passed, days passed and the weekend was here, mom dad and Kate were getting ready for Dad and mum's 24th marriage anniversary,I was sitting at the garden staring at the paid workers who were decorating the house some workers were working outside while some were working inside, kate mrs goody goody or should I say little miss perfect was putting up some finishing touches on mum's cloth apparently she was skilled too, not only literate"yep" she knows how to sew, most of her clothes, mine and my mom's were made by kate.Dad was passing out instructions to the workers while mom was in the kitchen getting busy and like I said I was quite balanced on a glass sit taking a chilled cold hollandia yoghurt at the garden."ahhh"I sighed cause the sweet taste of the yoghurt left a sweet lasting savour in my tongue, the strawberry hollandia flavour had always been my favourite, a wonderful world, huh? Cheers to you to.
I gradually continued to sip in my hollandia yoghurt from the glass cup untill it totally disappeared.
my dreamy world came to an end when mom screamed my name for me to come help her out at the kitchen.I leaned in to my sit and grumbled a little bit before holding the glass up and staring into it
"its their anniversary not mine, so why am I beign dragged into it?"

I stood up from the glass sit and moved to the kitchen to help my loving mother who apparently is trying to make sure That I Participate in making her anniversary party a blast!!.

The evening ran unto us like the waves of the sea which runs into the beach sand.I and my sister were instructed to stand at the entrance of the house so we could welcome more guest because apparently my parents and some other guest were to busy catching up in a holy ghost conference which was led by our pastor at the garden, though that was amazing but having to stay at a particular spot with this heels and staring into the faces of mom and dad's friends wasn't fun at all to me, urgh! And that's how my story began.
