~1 week later~

After that ice skating trip, I made it a point that we kept to artificial rinks; nature was unpredictable. Kyran, on the other hand, thought that that was the most fun he had and begged me to change my mind. Unfortunately, after catching a sudden cold, he decided to keep his mouth shut.

He took quite a while to recover. It seemed like he rarely ever got sick as he kept moaning and complaining about how sore he was, and how he couldn't move. What a crybaby.

I informed Cassidy of Kyran's condition and postponed any plans we had even though he looked like he might recover the next day. I was probably not paying attention to him as he lay on his bed. I felt bad for him; he's a fit person and rarely let a common cold stop him that easily.

The next day, I felt someone pull me up from my slumber suddenly.

"Wake up, sleepyhead!" the voice yelled, capable of waking the others in the room.

I opened my eyes and found Kyran crouching on my bed, gripping both of my shoulders and looking me in the eyes.

I removed his hands from my shoulders and fell back onto my bed. I covered my face with the pillow.

"No...I wanna sleep..." I mumbled.

"I told Cas we're having lunch later. It's 9 am," Kyran said.

"I thought you said you can't go out for another day?"

"I'm better already. Look."

Kyran then stood on my bed. He jumped on it a little before leaping high into the air. He bent his body backwards and tucked his legs in slightly. He flipped and landed on the floor nicely on his feet.

I glared at him. "So you meant to tell me that yesterday you were already fine but you decided to hide it," I accused.

"Sorry, I love being treated like a princess," he said, smiling sheepishly.

"You're not even a girl."

"Whatever. I'm going downstairs."

Kyran left the room after that. He had already showered and probably had his breakfast. I groaned and stood up from my bed. I grabbed a plain black t-shirt from my wardrobe and a pair of track pants. I put on a pair of slippers placed beside my bed. I shuffled to the bathroom after that.

"Why do you make last-minute arrangements, dude?" I asked, taking another bite into my sandwich.

"Because I felt bad for Cas. She literally has no friends and we're her only ones. What's worse is that she doesn't know that she can visit us here."

"Did she agree though?" I asked with my mouth full.

Kyran nodded. I finished my sandwich and cleaned up. "You should've told me that you're better earlier. I wouldn't have to cancel yesterday's plans with Cas."

"Heh. Not sorry bro," he said, grinning at me.

I rolled my eyes. "Fuck you, dude," I muttered.
