Summer had finally come after going through a final gruelling week. Our last day of school was celebrated with air horns, balloons and students throwing their books all over the place.

The way Sammi and I celebrated the last day of school was much more different. We rushed out to eat pizza at a nearby mall where we would always go shopping. We also spent that same day at the arcade playing the classics: PAC man and Donkey Kong. We didn't really care about all the homework we received that day; we had a lot of time to do it.

Summer was also the time when I could start my digital art. My parents bought me a drawing tablet to use with my laptop a few months prior. Now that summer's here, I could try out something different than my traditional art. My parents also bought a drawing software for me too, just in case.

A few days of summer had passed and I have finished my second digital drawing. It wasn't really that complex, considering that I still didn't know most of the keyboard shortcuts for the software. It was just a drawing of me and Sammi, nothing else. My first drawing was just of Brendon Urie.

After that was done, I finally started on my homework. I texted Sammi that I was going over to her place to do our homework. I bet she finished hers already, that hardworking girl.

I grabbed my skateboard and book bag and left the house, kissing my mum goodbye. I haven't been using my skateboard in a while so my legs were even wobblier than they usually were. Nevertheless, I managed to make my way downtown to her place.

I went up to her room after saying hi to her mum and little brother, Tyler. Her room was painted a bright pink and blue, while mine was a nice maroon and black. Her things were all kept neatly on the table and her clothes were folded and arranged neatly in a laundry basket. Her room was spotless too, unlike mine.

She waved at me. "Hey, Ebony!"

"Hey, boo," I smiled back. She was sitting on a chair and her leg was supported by a small stool. I sat on a chair beside her and took out my stuff. "So you finished all your homework yet?"

"Yep. What have you been doing?" She cheekily asked.

"Drawing. Lots of it."

"Ooooo is it a drawing of us??"

"Y-yeah. How'd you know?"

"Instincts, bitch," she whispered. I poked her in the rib and chuckled.

I started on my homework a few minutes later. I had English, Maths, Chemistry and French homework to do and it's gonna drain me. Well, with the help of Sammi, I managed to finish most of it within 2 hours. Now all that was left was French, which I dreaded so much but I had to do it so that I would be free for the rest of the summer.

With a sigh, I started doing my French. It was only 4 pages of the worksheet, nothing serious. I finished that in about half an hour before finally taking a break. I went down to her kitchen, made some tea and drank it in the living room. When I was done, I stayed in her room for a while before waving her goodbye.

By the time I reached home, it was only 4 pm. It felt like a normal school day but I did art for most of it. I kept my skateboard near the umbrella holder where I had always put it and withdrew to my room. Mum was at her classes again as usual and dad was working, leaving me and Nick together at home. I have no idea what he's doing in his room, but I bet he's taking a nap.
