~Time skip: 6 months~

Summer last year was pretty exciting yet traumatising for me. I had no idea how this summer was gonna be but I bet it'd be way more boring now that I've escaped from my misery back home.

"Why does it gotta be so hot?" Kyran moaned loudly.

I glared at him. "It's called 'summer' for a reason, idiot," I snapped.

He merely grunted and shuffled out of our dorm. I mentally rolled my eyes and continued reading whatever I was reading.

There wasn't much to do at that point in time; I had already finished the tons of homework we were given for the holidays. I also forced Kyran to finish his so that we had more to do but oh how I was wrong, so, so wrong...

We spent the first few days of summer lazing about in the orphanage. We were so bored that I thought I was gonna go insane soon.

Kyran, on the other hand, thought it was a great idea to flirt with some random girls passing by the orphanage. He ended up getting slapped countless times and having a shoe thrown at him. I was nearby on some of these occasions and had to apologise to the poor ladies for experiencing that. Of course, some of them thought I was trying to flirt too and got a few slaps.

"Can you like...stop being so stupid?" I whined, rubbing my sore face.

"Sorry, bro. When I'm bored, I get stupid."

"Then tone down on the boring."

"The question is, how?"

I shrugged. We haven't hung out with Cassidy in a while and she'd probably be lonely by now. I decided to text her.

"Hey, Cas has invited us to follow her family on a short trip. It's by the beach," I told Kyran.

"What? I haven't been there in so long! When did she say they're going?" Kyran exclaimed.

"This weekend probably."

"Have you replied her yet?"

"No."

"Then do it," Kyran instructed.

I rolled my eyes at him. I replied to Cassidy's text saying that we'd be down for it. She replied immediately, asking us to seek permission from Ms Drews first.

"Kyran, Cas said that we should ask Ms Drews if we can go," I called out.

"I'll go," he said, getting up and leaving. I lay on the bed and watched a few videos.

"She said yes!" Kyran exclaimed, bursting into the room. I shot out of my bed and fist-pumped the air.

"I thought she would've said no."

"She trusts us a lot, remember?"

"Oh right."

So it was decided that we would be going on a vacation with Cassidy. We packed our stuff for the outing and bought myself a swimsuit because I didn't like showing the top half of my body to anyone.

After that, we met Cassidy at her place where her family, Kyran and I took off to the beach.
