When the Going Gets Tough

part 18

When the nurse came back in with a soft smile on her face caitlin tensed a bit but relaxed when she felt barry squeeze her hand.

"Are you ready?"  The nurse questioned

Caitlin nooded.

"Ok would you leave the room please" The nurse said to barry.

Caitlin bit her lip and looked at barry "he's staying" She said flatly.

The nurse pursed her lips but didn't say anything more on the matter.

"Would you take your shirt off please?" Caitlin nodded stiffly and lifted her shirt over her head.

The nurse didn't even bat an eye at caitlin's bruises just began poking and prodding her and told her to say something if she felt pain.

The nurse was prodding her and taking pictures for about 20 minuets and she had a death grip on Barry's hand he didn't seem to mind though he just stroked her nuckels.

"Ok I want to send you down to X-ray because there's a strong chance that your ribs are cracked"

"Will she be ok?" Barry asked urgently caitlin was putting her top back on and barrys back was turned away from her.

The nurse gave him a sympathetic look "physically she'll be fine within 6-7 weeks the bruises should of faded and her ribs should've healed themslfs by then but emotionally I don't know I shouldn't be telling you this but my cousin went threw something similar it took her a while to get back to trust again but caitlin trusts you so at least that's a start"

Barry nodded "Thankyou"

"No problem I've sent her infomation down to X-ray and called for a wheel chair"

"Does she need a wheel chair?!"

"No but I think it would be easier and less painful for her"

Barry thanked the nurse again and  turned around to face caitlin and slipped his arm over her shoulder and didn't think anything of it caitlin leaded her head on his shoulder and let out a small sigh.

Some one came into the room with a wheel chair caitlin looked at barry with a frown on her face "its so your not in as much pain" he exsplained

Barry helped caitlin off the metal bed/table and into the wheelchair.
Barry pushed caitlin in the wheel chair and they followed the nurse to X-ray.

"Ok your boyfriend has to wait outside for the X-ray but don't worry it will only take a few minutes"

"He's not my boyfriend"

"Shes not my girlfriend" they said at the same time the nurse just smiled at them looking a bit amused.

"I'll be here when you get out" barry promised and squeezed caitlin's shoulder lightly.

After caitlin went into X-ray barry began pacing on th waiting room he realised that his parents didn't know anything about caitlin's well being so he texted them both and they replied saying that they wanted to be kept posted.

When caitlin came out of X-ray barry found he could breath again.

"I should get results soon their just looking them over" caitlin exsplained.

"how was it?"

Caitlin shrugged "it was fine..."

There was a pause before caitlin began to stand up "what are doing?" Barry asked urgently trying to get her to sit back down.

"Im hungry we've been here for almost 4 hours so I'm going to get some crisps and a drink from the vending machine"

"But your ribs..." barry protested.

"Its litrally 10 steps away" caitlin shot back.

"Then I'll go wait here"

"Thakyouuu" she drew out the word.

Barry just smirked then proceeded to the vending machine.

When he came back he had gotten a big bag of cheese and onion crisps and two bottles of cola.

They sat side by side and shared the crisps.

"Miss.Snow" a voice called

"That's me" caitlin replied

The nurse exsplained to caitlin and barry that she had 3 cracked ribs that would heal in about a month along with the bruises and that she had to take it easy and not loft heavy objects or do anything that might make her breath heavy she was also prescribed some painkillers.

After that they were alound to
go home.

When they got back to barrys house it was late and mia was already in bed henry and Nora were waiting up for them.
