you know those first ten seconds right after you wake up? those ten seconds of cluelessness after your eyes open.

those seconds when you can't remember who you are, where you are or the shit you've gone through.

all you know in that short moment is that you're alive and seeing another day.

and the sun is filtering through the windows and into your half shut eyes  because you forgot to draw the curtains close the night before.

i live for those ten seconds. i cherish those ten seconds every day. they are the singular moment of peace i have in the twenty four hours of a day even in my sleep.

ten fucking seconds.

because that's the only time i forget you exist and were ever in my life. the only time the memories you filled me with are non existent.

and for ten seconds everyday there is no you.
