"so, you got his number?" Sadie plopped down beside Millie on her queen bed.

Millie smiled proudly, "Yep."

Sadie laughed, "Wow. I didn't think you'd be any good at this." Sadie didn't expect Millie to win, but she was surprised by how well the girl was doing.

"Theres one problem. He smokes..." Millie's voice trailed off.

Sadie scoffed, "Smoking is so hot on guys. Is he, like, addicted?"

"No, but it's still gross."

Sadie frowned, "So you're giving up the bet because he smokes occasionally?"

"Well, no-" Sadie cut her off, "great! So there's nothing to worry about."

Before Millie could respond, her phone rang.

Sadie leaned over and tried to look at the number, "Who is it?"

Millie looked down and saw it was a random number. She wanted it to be Finn, but why would he want to call her?

"Uh, probably just a wrong number." Millie declined the call and turned her phone off.

"What if it was Finn?"

Millie laughed, "yeah, right."

She wanted it to be Finn, and she wasn't sure why. She didn't like him, did she? And even if she did, it wouldn't matter. She had to break his heart.

Sadie frowned, "Millie! Go call him back. You're making this bet way too easy for me."

"Sadie-" the girl cut her off, "no, Millie. No excuses!"

She knew she couldn't go back on the bet with Sadie, no matter how much she wanted to. She had to win, and she had to start trying. It wouldn't be easy for her, but winning this bet was important. Besides, it was breaking one heart to save many more, which seemed like a good thing to Millie.

Millie sighed, "okay." She got up and called back the number, hoping he would pick up.

He picked up half way through the second ring, "hi millie." She smiled when she heard his voice. It was so soothing to Millie.

"Hi Finn."

"I miss you, Mills."

"Y-you what?" Millie stuttered. Did he say he missed her?

"I said I miss you."

Be confident, Millie.

She took a deep breath before responding, "I miss you too."

"Oh, really?" Millie couldn't see him, but she knew he was smiling.

"yep." She replied, popping the p.

"Maybe we can hangout soon?" He suggested.

"Maybe we can." She replied, her heart beating a little faster.

"How about right now?" He asked, surprising the girl. She didn't expect him to want to hang out today.
