"How are you getting in?"

They were standing at her back door now. It was a little past midnight, Millie had to sneak in. Her parents weren't strict, but she had a curfew. A curfew she was currently breaking.

"My rooms on the first floor," Millie told him. "I just need to find the key."

Finn nodded, and began searching the back porch for the spare key. Millie's mom always told her where it was, but she could never remember. Was it under the doormat? Behind the porch light? She wasn't sure.

"Here." He smiled, pulling the silver key from under a potted plant. Millie laughed a little and shook her head, realizing how obvious that hiding place should've been to her.

Millie quickly grabbed the key from his hand and quietly unlocked the back door.

"Goodnight Millie." Finn whispered. His eyes were less bloodshot now, and Millie could see that they were starting to grow heavy, similar to her own.

"Goodnight." She gave him one last look before shutting her back door and creeping towards her room.

"Millie! Get up, you're going to be late."

Millie's eyes shot open, an immediate feeling of pain rushing to her head. She put her hand to her forehead, groaning to herself. Was this what a hangover felt like?

She rolled out of bed, not even bothering to put on any makeup. She left her hair natural, and put on her glasses rather than contacts like she did the day before. So much for good first impressions, the girl thought to herself.

Millie ran down the stairs, grabbing an apple from her kitchen counter. "Jaeden's taking me to school today."

Millie's mom, who was sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, furrowed her eyebrows, "Who is that?"

Millie shrugged, taking a small bite from the red apple. "my new friend."

"I don't like you getting rides from people I don't know, Millie." Her mothers voice was stern. It was always stern.

"Well, I know him. And he's my friend." Millie replied. "And he's here. See ya!" She gave her mom a quick wave before running out the door to Jaeden's car.

"Hey, Mills." Iris spoke as soon as Millie opened the car door.

"Hey." Millie smiled, getting in beside the blonde girl. Millie knew Jaeden took Iris to school too, but she wasn't prepared to talk to the girl. She still didn't know what happened with Finn. What if Iris knew he took Millie home? Would she care?

"You left the party early." Jaeden said from the front seat, pulling away from Millie's house.

"Uh- yeah. I have a curfew."

"Who took you home?" Iris asked. Shit, Millie thought, she must know.

"Finn." Millie sighed. She didn't want to lie, she just hoped the truth wouldn't hurt her friends.
