"You have to go, Mills. Caleb throws the biggest back to school party ever. We're lucky we even got invited. Missing it would be social suicide."
Millie rolled her eyes, "social suicide? Sadie, I'm already dead."
Sadie put her hand on her hip, a loud sigh escaping her lips, "you're impossible." She groaned.
"Sorry I don't feel like spending my night at a crowded house party with people I don't know." Millie replied, not even looking up at the girl.
Sadie frowned, but continued her convincing, "Finn will be there."
This caused Millie to look up. She hated herself for how excited she got, the way her heart felt when she heard his name.
"He is?" She asked, causing Sadie to laugh at the girl's sudden interest, "duh. He's Calebs best friend."
Millie slowly nodded, "I guess I could go for a little bit."

"You can borrow my clothes if you'd like." Sadie was in front of her mirror, applying cherry red lipstick. Everyone always told her it complimented her red hair.
Millie nodded, walking over to the large walk in closet. She normally wouldn't take Sadie up on the offer, but she wanted to look good tonight. Finn said he didn't care what she wore, but she wanted him to. She decided on a baby pink tank top and high waisted denim shorts. It wasn't very far off from something she would normally wear, and she had to admit, it looked good on her.
"That looks so cute, Mills." Sadie says from behind her, causing the girl to turn around.
She smiled at her best friend, "Thanks, Sads."
"One last thing-" Sadie grabbed her favorite tube of lip gloss and handed it to Millie, "apply some."
Millie looked down at the product. She rarely wore makeup, and if she did it was just some mascara. She turned towards the mirror and held the glossy applicator to her lips, the product gliding on easily.
"You ready to go?" Sadie asked, touching up her hair and makeup one last time.
Millie nodded, "ready as I'll ever be."

Millie initially thought they would just walk to Calebs house, but Sadie told her that he was coming to pick them up tonight so they wouldn't have to walk. That's sweet, Millie thought.
"He's here." Sadie got up from the chair in front of her vanity and walked to the front door, Millie following closely behind her.
Before opening the door, Sadie turned to Millie and placed a tube of pink lip gloss in the girl's palm, "Don't forget to reapply." Millie nodded, slipping the product into her back pocket.
When they got in the car, Millie was secretly hoping Finn would be in there. She liked being around him. Much to her disappointment, he wasn't.
Caleb noticed the look on her face and laughed, "he's at my house, don't worry."
Millie nodded, smiling at the boy in the front seat. He seemed so sweet and genuine, it was a shame Sadie was taking advantage of him.
