10;

Millie Bobby Brown hated parties.

She'd only ever been to one, and to say it ended badly would be an understatement.

Now, she was in Jaeden's car with Wyatt in the front seat and Iris beside her, on the way to a party.

Millie tugged at a loose thread on the hem of her denim skirt, nervously glancing around the car. Iris had her hand out the window, with her head leaned back and her eyes closed.

"Are you excited?" Iris suddenly spoke up, opening her eyes and turning towards Millie.

Millie shrugged, "I guess so."

Iris gently nudged the girl, "don't be nervous, Mills. It'll be so much fun, I promise."

"We're here." Jaeden said, pulling up to Sophia's house.

Iris stepped out, Millie following closely behind her. "I have an idea." Iris said, grabbing the girl's hand.

Millie gave Iris a confused look. "What?"

"Follow my lead, okay?" Iris gave her a reassuring smile before pulling her towards the party.

They stepped inside the front door of Sophia's house, and many heads turned towards them. Millie's eyes widened, a nervous feeling growing in her stomach from all of the sudden attention. Iris remained calm, giving Millie's hand a gentle squeeze before stepping further into the house. Millie walked beside her, glancing around as the two girls sauntered through to front entrance of the large home. Eyes watched them from all sides, but the two girls kept their eyes ahead of them- well, Iris did. Millie couldn't help looking down at the ground every so often.

Once they reached the kitchen, Iris gave Millie a large grin, "that was awesome, Mills! Everyone was looking at us!"

"that was terrifying." Millie breathed out.

Iris laughed, "well, you looked amazing."

Sophia suddenly entered the kitchen, walking over to Millie and Iris, "Finn's here." She quickly stated.

Millie noticed Iris blush, "did he see Millie and I?" She asked.

Sophia nodded, "yep. His jaw was practically on the floor! You have to go talk to him."

"You should." Millie added, only half meaning it. Maybe if Iris and Finn got together, she would start to loose feelings for him. Maybe.

Iris nodded, "okay. Wish me luck." She said, and walked out of the kitchen.

"I need a drink." Sophia sighed after Iris left. "You want one, Mills?"

"I don't really-" she paused, "actually, yes."

Sophia nodded, pouring her a cup of, whatever it was, and handing it to the girl. Millie grabbed the red plastic cup, taking quick sips of the burning liquid.

Sophia watched the girl. "Slow down." She laughed, patting Millie on the shoulder.

Millie lowered her cup, letting out a small laugh, "I'm nervous." She shrugged.
