The Unexpected

Waiting

P.O.V. Ryan
          I look around at everyone. They are all is still. Nothing is happening, no movement just silence. Why are they just standing there?  I walk over to April.

Me: We got to get the door down.. I need her.

        She looks into my eyes. Her eyes had tears in them.

April: I know..

       A tear ran down her face as she looks over at Jacob. Jacob walks over to her and wipes the tear from her cheek slowly then kisses her on her forehead. He pulls her into a hug and doesn't let go. He looks over. At me and shakes his head.

Me: Guys? 

         Dora and Glenn look at me silently. I don't really know what to say. I never have... do I even belong here? With them? Here? With her?...
        I want her to be safe. No, I need her to be safe. I need her to be with us at home, not here in a fucking hell hole were the doors won't come down nomatter what.
       What's going to happen?..  We are giving up.. I see it in everyone's eyes. Like it's too late. It can't be too late. 

Me: Guys, we can't give up.

Glenn: Who said we were giving up?

Jacob: Ryan, you are going to get her back. You will get to see her again and she wont be...

          He looked down at April and kissed her silently as she looked at him with another tear rolling down her face.
        I thought to myself as everyone goes quiet again. I hate that. I hate that I can't do anything. I hate that I can't be in there with her.
         Dora starts to get tears in her eyes. Glenn walks over and picks her up wiping her tears away and kissing her softly on the lips.
        April looks up and walks closer to the door.

April: Mac!!!!!!!

        She put her ear to the door and looked back at us with a sadening look. There was no answer. Great...
        I open my phone to see what time it was but to see a picture of Mac. God she was so beautiful. She was smiling for once.. ugh that smile..
       I look up

Me: Guys, c'mon!
