"And I guess that's the reason I come here," Simon tells me as I wipe away some blood, which runs down fom his forehead onto his lips.

I don't respond as I proceed to clean his cuts and scars, being careful not to hit the bruises.

We stay like such in silence as before I feel the need to ask one more question.

"How long have you been running away from them?"

"From who exactly?"

"Them people."

"For around a year now. I don't want to jinx it by saying that they hopefully won't find me, but I guess I just did."

"Knock on wood." I shrug.

He thinks for a moment before placing his hand on his crotch. I close my eyes and stop my actions, trying not to laugh, right before I hear one of the most heartwarming sounds I've heard in a while.

In a way, Simon's laugh reminds me of my brother's. So do his eyes and hair, hence the reason I'm attracted to his idiotic ass.

"Jokes, jokes," he quietly says before I stare at him once more.

"Aaaand, done." I saw as I throw away the blood-stained napkin.

"Thank you," he quietly mumbled beneath his breath before turning way from me.

The sun has nearly gone down and the last of it's rays are peeking from the horizon. I sit down from my kneeling position and face the sky, except deciding to sit a tad bit closer to the boy than before.

"Cara." He says, more to himself than anyone else.

"Simon."

"Your name gives me butterflies. Is that strange?" Simon doesn't take his eyes off the sky and furrows his eyebrows in thought.

"Potentially. We've only met around two weeks ago. Even less, if tomorrow is Thursday."

"But what does that mean?"

"What does what mean?"

"The butterflies. The red on my cheeks. The sweat. What's all that about?"

I smile to myself as I look down. I've made a boy feel all those things about me..

"Dunno. Why don't you ask JJ? I'm sure he'll know." I say, matter-of-factly.

"Nah, he's not the best with advice and just..life in general, really. He constantly talks like that about Seana, though. The nervousness, the sweat, et cetra, and we all know what happened with Seana.." He sighs and looks back at me. I decide to ignore his gaze or else I'll fall even more.

"Want a sip?" Simon picks up his beer and stirs the bottle towards me as I shake my head no and carry on watching the moon rise.

He drinks as I finally turn to face him. He doesn't seem to notice as he puts down the empty glass bottle, before lightly throwing it off the edge.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer.." He smiles as I blush, tearing my eyes away.

"Sorry," I mumble quietly.

Suddenly, a small spark flashes through the sky. I instantly look up to see a shooting star, followed by another.

"Make a wish, but make it worth it," Simon whispers into my ear, which sends shivers down my spine.

I wish for a happy ending.

"Done."

"Done."

We sit in silence as we stare at each other.

I don't say a single word out loud but my mind keeps shouting and my thoughts screaming so loud that I believe that the whole world could hear them.

This is your chance! This is your chan-

His lips press onto mine before I could even rethink through my actions. The whole I was convincing myself to do it first, his face has been inching closer and closer to mine without me even noticing it.

I gave into his tender touch as he ran his fingers down my waist and off my hip, stopping at my thigh to hold me in place. I don't refuse, letting it all happen like a wave hitting you all a once when you're swimming in the sea.

Moments pass before I break apart from him. Glancing over at my watch I notice that it's 11 PM, which is considered late for me.

I curse under my breath and look back up at Simon.

His deep, ocean-like eyes bore into mine as I slip my waist from his hand, standing up and wiping off any dirt or mud from my denim shorts.

Simon stands up alongside me and wipes off his clothes, too, a smile showing.

"Don't flatter yourself much, Minter."

"I won't, Young."

Before I could ask how he knows my last name, I feel myself pecking him on the lips good night and walking off.

As soon as I get far enough, a cheer rings through my ears. I turn back to notice Simon's arms in the air. "YES!" He shouts.

Oh, Simon.. I shake my head and smile to myself, knowing that some wishes do come true.
