As I freed myself from Tobi's grip, I walk in the direction the other boys went.

Just before I leave their sight, I hear Kay shout from behind me, "You're just going to make things worse!"

I hear the shouting of my newly made friends bhind me but I block out every word. I may not be doing the right thing but I don't have time to think about such things as I'm already getting closer.

I walk through the litle groups of people and find Simon hanging around right in the middle of one of the quads.

I get closer and closer and Ethan spots me, widens his eyes and turns away, pretending to not see me.

The nearer I get, the more my blood runs cold. The sudden boost of confidence I got made this whole situations easier as I would have never done something of such sort if it weren't for Vik being my friend.

"Oi, MInter!" I shout as I grab his shoulder and turn him around with all my might.

I see people turning their heads towards me and watching in anticipation of what is about to come.

Just at that moment, I realized that I don't have anything to say to him but that doesn't stop me.

He turns to me, his smirk turning into a scowl.

"What do you want?" Annoyance is now seeping through his words.

"I want you to stop fucking up my friends' lives." I command, making sure to look his straight in the eye whilst I do so.

He straightens out from his mildly bent position, rubbing his hands on his polo, as he rolls his eyes as JJ snickers and Ethan looks uncertain of what to do.

he returns his cold glare onto me.

"And what are you going to do if I don't?"

I'm at loss of words but I quickly regain my senses as I see a familiar mop of jet black hair standing in the back of the fast forming crowd around us.

"Fuck up yours," I scowl.

"Oh, wow! I'm so scared!" The boy with the fake gold chain exclaims in an overly dramatic voice. Simon raises his hand to shush his friend before he could continue, without taking his perfect eyes off of mine. JJ immediately stops what he's doing and follows his leader's command.

"And how will you do that? 'Cos I can mess with your little group even more."

"Go on then, I want to see you try." I egg him on.

"C'mon man! Just push her out the way and go! She's a nobody!" JJ shouts from behind, already done with the situation.

"Yeah, Simon. Go ahead! Hit me, even, just do something." I smirk, waiting for his reaction.

Simon's eyes wander around the court. He looks at all the people surrounding us and focuses on anything but me.

Finally, he furrows his eyebrows a little more than before and mutters quietly under his breath before walking off, "I don't hit girls."

In this school - and really any other - news and rumors spread like wildfire.

After what happened yesterday, I went from being the 'new girl' to Cara within hours.

Besides people coming up to me and asking for the reason I stood up to the worst kid in school (as if it wasn't obvious), I've also heard some pretty stupid rumors, such as that there's something going on between me and Simon, which there isn't, never was, and never, ever will.

But with all good things come bad ones, such as earning glares from his clique in the hallway and Ethan stopping talking to us in science. All he does is sit quietly and focus on his work, blocking out anything but his own thoughts.

After three boring periods consisting of drama, geography, and French, it was finally time for lunch.

I drop my bag in the pile of them, which was next to the lockers that stood outside, I make my way to lunch, waiting for Vik, Kay, and Tobi to show up as well. Once they do, I sling my arm over Vik as he is shorter than me and we walk into the building once more.

"Thank you, really," Vik whispers for the fourth time today.

"Vik..I already told you! You don't have to thank me. That's what friends are supposed to do." I smile, but my positive expression soon falters as familiar voices ring through my ears.

"I still can't believe she....Exactly! And I was like.....No, never! She's not even...." Although their conversation was barely audible I could still pick up some of the things Simon was saying to whoever was around him.

I decided to ignore it but what caught my attention were the three female voices. I try to subtly turn around and see who they are but Tobi catches me doing so.

"Don't turn around. They're looking." He points out.

I nod as he continues.

"The one with the short brown hair is Katie Leach. Cheerleader, gymnast, kind of slow in...life." I giggle at how Tobi describes her. "The girl she's standing next to is Sarah. Ethan's love of his life, but we joke that he's secretly in love with Simon."

"We?"

"They all don't mind me, apart from JJ as he says he's jealous of me since he looks white compared to my skin tone." He lets out a heart-warming laugh. "You see, if you hadn't done what you did yesterday, I'd still be friends with them, but now they sorta hate me. But I'm still proud of you, don't worry."

I let out a sigh of relief before he continues to speak.
