I was frozen, not knowing what to do. I knew I needed to react but my feet were rooted to the ground right there. My husband's life was in danger and all I could do was stand there in shock, unable to comprehend how to warn him.
"I've got my gun loaded, man. I'll get this guy out of the way for good now! Who does he think he is, sending my brother to jail?" The man's voice as he spoke on the phone snapped me out of my inner panic, but I was still paralysed in shock.
Before I could realise what was happening, this man was headed straight towards where Farshad was, and to my horror, Farshad and Muhammad had already purchased the tickets since they were out of the queue, walking towards the kiosk where I was standing, unable to move a muscle.
One thing I knew for sure was that Farshad didn't know what this guy who wanted to kill him looked like. Farshad's intention was to get Inspector Yusuf to show him his picture or something. So I knew that unless I did something myself, this guy would shoot Farshad.
Seeing Farshad coming towards me was what caused me to mobilise. I immediately began to run towards him, to warn him of this, but before I could reach him, or before he could react to anything, the man pointed his pistol towards Farshad. Acting on impulse, because it was now too late to warn Farshad, I flung myself on him, as the man fired, shooting me square on my back.
I staggered in Farshad's arms as the bullet made contact with my back, the pain as excruciating as it could get as the bullet pierced through my flesh. A gasp escaped my lips due to the severe agony I was feeling. I felt too weak, the pain had exhausted me, my feet couldn't support me and I collapsed into Farshad's arms. Farshad was calling my name in distress, patting my cheek to make me respond to him, but everything was hazy, and I couldn't reply to his despaired calls.
The next thing I knew, everything went blank, and all I could see was the inside of my eyelids.

Farshad's P.O.V
Farshad didn't understand why Aliyah was running towards him. She looked...panicked. What had happened? Farshad shared a confused look with his brother.
The next thing he knew was Aliyah flinging herself at him, and at that very split second that she did so, Farshad heard the loud, unmistakable sound of a gunshot. It took him a few seconds to comprehend what happened. Everything happened so quickly that Farshad was stupefied and couldn't process all that happened as it happened.
But when he heard his wife gasp in his arms, then he realised what had happened. He saw the man right there, holding a gun pointed in their direction. And he immediately understood what happened. Aliyah saved him. She took a bullet for him on her back, and had it not have been for her, that bullet would have hit him on his chest, possibly piercing through his heart and would have killed him instantly.
That man who was pointing the gun was none other than the man sworn to take revenge. Farshad knew he had to act fast. He needed to accomplish two tasks at once.
"Muhammad, you've my consent. Grab these and go get that man! Here you go," Farshad said, pulling out a pair of handcuffs from his pocket and tossed then to Muhammad. The other thing he gave Muhammad was an item he had never used before, nor did he ever intend to use it, but he had it only for safety and threatening purposes. He handed Muhammad his revolver, which his brother took with shaking hands.
"Y-you want m-me t-to arr-arrest him f-for y-you?" Muhammad stammered.
"Yes! Go! Now! I can't leave Aliyah!" Farshad ordered, stress taking over him, as he looked at his wife in his arms.
