"Okay, on a scale from one to five, how badly did this guy fuck up?" You hear your best friend Jason say in the background. You sigh heavily, it was sweet for a while of the protectiveness, but now it was a little old. "Jason, first off, language and second, if I say how much, will you get off my back?"

"Maybe, maybe not." He smirks, you roll your eyes. "I would say ten if that answers your question." There was silence for a while. "Ja-"

"Hey (Y/N), where is the paint?" You look back to see why he was asking. Only to see him holding a rocket launcher. "Woah, woah, woah. I am not saving your ass if you get caught."

What had happened was your, now ex, boyfriend was cheating on you and to make it worse he was starting to get abusive. You cut it off right there and then, he slapped you and called you something not so friendly. You went straight to Jason afterwards.

"What? I need to justify his screw up."

"Why are you so protective all of a sudden?"

"Because, I have my reasons. But, does that mean I'm your knight in shining armour?" He gives a boyish grin and puffs out his chest. You chuckle and shake your head. "Sure."

" Well, although I might shoot him, I'm greatful, he's given me something." You give him a curious look, urging him to go on. "He's given me a shot with you." He looked away. "The thing is, I love you, I have for a while now, I think it was when I came back. You made me realize just how much I need you." You give him a smile when he looks back at you. Looking back, you realized how much you loved your goofy best friend too, although you'd rather wait a little before going back into a relationship, you couldn't deny your feelings. "Jay, I love you too,"

"I say the first thing we do is get that bastard back, hmm?"

"Good idea."
