You and Billy were friends. Really great friends. But one day, he told you that he liked you, like, liked you. You were both thirteen at the time. You admitted, you had a small crush on him too, but this was your best friend. What would become of your friendship if something happened? But being you, you decided to mess with him. Naturally.

"Come on, (Y/N), why not?"

"Maybe I will go on a date with you when you grow taller." You shrugged with a playful smile. He groaned, "Fine. But you said you would."

He knew you too well, something was bothering you. If he couldn't get it out of you as Billy, then maybe Shazam could. Later that day, he transformed and went to go find you after school. You were crossing the street to get home and a car was headed straight for you, not even slowing down. With his hyperspeed, he rushed to your rescue before the car could hit you.

You stared at him in awe. Who could blame you? A hero just saved you. "Uh, Th-Thanks." You mumbled, stepping away slightly. Now or never. "Uh, usually people dash to get out of the way, something on your mind?" He mentally scolded himself for sounding stupid, but you didn't give him your signature look of displeasure when someone did say something stupid. You shrugged, "I guess, my friend asked me out, and I'm at a loss." You didn't know why you told him that. It technically wasn't his business, but, he seemed easy to talk to.

"Well, why didn't you say yes? Do you not like him or something?" He was trying so hard not to be nervous about this, he wanted to know why you didn't. It was slightly hurtful. You shook your head. "It's not like that, I do, but I'm. . . Scared. What if it just doesn't work out? He's my best friend and I don't want to loose him even if things don't work out."

He nodded, trying to fight back a smile. So that was it. "I guess you'll just have to take a chance." He shrugged, "Oh, and look both ways before you cross the street." He waved and took off. Now that he knew why you didn't say yes, he felt so much better. You liked him back! But he will wait until he's taller, just to get back at you.

Years passed and your feelings grew for him. The new school year was here. Today was the first day and you were anxious to see your best friend even if you only saw him yesterday. Once you saw him your eyes widened, oh yeah...

He towered over you now.

You fought back a blush when he approached you. "Hey (Y/N)." He greeted with a smile. "H-Hey." You greeted back, he looked at you weirdly until he "seemed" to remember. He smirked, leaning down slightly so his face was level with yours. "Guess this means you'll have to go on a date with me now."

You looked away flustered, and nodded. "Yeah, I-I guess it does." You gave a bashful smile. He chuckled, grabbed your hand and walked with you down the halls.
