You were feeling the need for attention, like a lot of people do. Unfortunately your boyfriend being a hero and all can't always provide it for you. No matter how much he wants to.

Both of you were major cuddle bugs, so neither of you minded spending all day doing pretty much nothing while he recovers from a rough patrol the night before if he's not busy working. You always just lay in bed or on the couch, feet tangled and foreheads pressed together as you talk about anything that comes to mind. Or you just stay silent and enjoy each other's presence.

Today, however, was not one of those days and it was pretty upsetting for you. Especially since you'll be home alone All. Day. "Babe, please. Stay in bed~" You whined, clinging to him desperately. "I'm sorry, Amor, but I have to go on a mission right now." It really hurt to refuse you like this, but he really had to go.

He could hear scarab grow more and more irritated with the both of you. "Jamie, we need to go. Now." He sighed, removing your arms that he so desperately wanted to stay there.

But the city and possibly the world needed him more.

"Prometo que te lo compensaré más tarde."* He whispered into your ear before he left. You sighed sadly as you watched him leave, feeling the cold loneliness that soon followed.

You kept telling yourself that he had to go and you would be okay, he'll come back and keep you close.

But you couldn't stop the thoughts, What if he didn't come back? What if he left you or even worse, isn't able to make it back? What if-

You couldn't stop the tears from falling and those thoughts kept racing through your mind. He and you both knew why you were more clingy than some other people. It was the fear of being left alone again. He understood that to a point, and accepted it. That's one of the reasons why you loved him so much.

You spent all day either staring at the ceiling or watching something to keep your mind of the loneliness, but it only helped so much. You hadn't even paid attention to the time, much like eating anything at all.

It was later that evening when he came home. He was tired, and sore. He just wanted to see his love again and cuddle since he didn't have the chance to yet. When you heard the door open, you ran straight to him, wrapping your arms around him and burying your face into his chest.

He stumbled back a bit, but managed to keep you both from falling over. He felt you shaking.

He was gonna fix this real quick.

He scooped you up and carried you to the couch, he sat down and set you on top of him as he laid down. He wrapped one arm around your waist as the other hand pet your hair soothingly. "Lo siento, cariño, te amo."** He whispered as he kissed your cheek. "I always will, no matter how far away I am."

Your shaking seised after a few minutes and you finally smiled at him. "I love you too, Jamie." He smiled back, knowing he had made you feel better and placed a small kiss to your lips.

The rest of the night consisted of cuddles and kisses, both of you falling asleep on the couch in each other's embrace.
