Dick was older than you. You were at least four or five. And he was super protective over you. He fussed about you more than probably Bruce did. Although no one fussed over the bat family more than Alfred, but that's besides the point.

He always finds it so adorable when you wanted to follow him. Tonight was no exception, but. . .

He couldn't take you with him this time. He had to go on a mission with the team, and Bruce was busy with his own patrol. It was too dangerous. He sighed when you attached yourself to his leg to try and stop him. "C'mon (Y/N), I promise I'll be back before you know it." He tried to reason. You shook your head. "No! Stay! Bubba please stay!" You had a pout on your face along with tears pricking your eyes. He picked you up and carried you out of the bat cave. "Sorry sis, but you have to stay here."

"Why?"

"Because I need to help people." He set you down in your bed. You huffed and turned away from him. He sighed again, he hated it when you were mad at him, but he had to leave. He kissed the top of your head before leaving you to your sulking.

Dick came back late, bruised and tired. He had to check on you though. He made his way to your room and peeked in through the door. His eyes widened hearing you crying. "(Y/N)?" He asked worridly, instantly going to you by the bed.

You let into his arms, him wincing a little in pain. "What's the matter sis?" He pulled away enough to wipe the tears falling down your cheeks, which had stray hairs stuck to them as well. "I-I . . . I had a ni-nightmare." You sobbed, clutching onto him. He pet your hair to sooth you. "St-stay? Pl-ease?" You looked up at him with big, sad eyes. He let a small smile grace his features. "Of course, baby sis. I'm not going anywhere." He laid next to you and held you close as you fell asleep. "I'll always be here, (Y/N)."

He will always protect you.

Imagine what it'd be like when you're old enough to start dating.

Let's just say whoever comes close will have lots of trouble headed their way.
