The Hanahaki Disease is an illness born from one-sided love, where the patient coughs up flowers or flower petals. The only cure is to have that love reciprocated, or to somehow wipe away all one's memories of their beloved person. The infection can be removed through surgery, but the feelings disappear along with the petals.
It first came slowly then all at once. Flower petals after flower petals. It burned my throat and lungs so much. He had saw it too. Saeran knows my feelings for him, but he doesn't feel anything back towards me. It kills me on the inside and soon will actually kill me.
When he first saw, he panicked. He didn't know what to do. I have seen this case happen before in my family. He had surgery performed on him. It was sad, and kind of embarrassing, to have to explain this to Saeran. Once everyone else found out, they started to almost baby me. I was able to stop them before it got too far.
I continue to sit down on the old tire swing in the back of our large background. The tire swings in rhythm with the cold autumn air surrounding us. I look down to see crimson flower petals scattering the ground with the fallen leaves. Next to that is the inhaler I need incase of bad coughing fits that leave me with trouble breathing.
As I continue swinging back and forth, I see the back door open. My mom came to bring the dog out and check on me again. My parents persisted that I moved back in them. I couldn't refuse, so I moved back into my old room. It was quite upsetting because I just got out of college into the real world, and it all got taken away from me.
"(Y/N), do you need anything?" my mom asks before entering back into the house. I shake my head and break into a coughing fit again. A few of the oh so familiar flower petals fall down on my lap. I sigh and bring my hand to my chest. It's been burning my lungs and giving me heartburn much more recently. I must be getting sick with the new season coming. Great...
"Hey (Y/N)," I hear to my left. I look in that direction to see Saeran jumping over the fence. He has been my neighbor ever since I was little. We got along better than Saeyoung, his brother, and I did . His mother is currently ill, so he came to watch her.

"Hey Saeran, come sit." He sits down with his back leaning against the trunk of the tree.
"How are you doing flower girl?" He's been calling me that ever since this started even though it's caused by him.
"I've been better. The weather is making it worse for me today." He nods. I keep singing and quietly swinging in the breeze. I look up at the branches we used to climb all the time as kids. I still have a rope ladder leading up to a branch and platform around the tree.
"Let's climb up to the platform,"
I say as I start to climb the ladder. He sighs and follows after me.
"(Y/N), this is a terrible idea. Can it even support us two anymore?" he asked as he starts climbing up the ladder. I reach the top and pull myself on the platform.
"I go up here all the time. You'll be fine though you would probably break it."
"Ouch," he replies. His voice sounds a little hurt still. As to habit, I instantly apologize.
"I'm so sorry I'm only joking please don't hate me!" I plead as he pulls his way up now. He quietly laughs at my apology. We both sit with are backs against the tree trunk looking up at the cloudy, but pretty, sky.
