Cat Café | Jumin x Reader

"Trust me (Y/N), you'll like him! I've known him ever since I was a child," V, my best friend and roommate , says as we walk down the street to a cafe. He decided to set me up on a "blind date" with his friend which is unlike him, but I guess he is tried of me talking about my singleness.

"V, I'm fine without a partner. You don't have to do this," I say.

He sighs and chuckles. "Even if you are happy with your anime or game or TV show or whatever 'husbands' you have, you still need to meet new people. If this doesn't turn out dating wise, you still have a potential friend."

"What about you? Are you going to do anything with socializing anytime soon?" I ask as I raise an eyebrow up at him.

"I'm fine. I meet people through photography anyway. Here is the place." He points towards a little café in the middle of a line of shops called Tea and Tails. From what you can see, it's a cat café. Your eyes light up in excitement as you look inside.

"V, you are the best place planner ever!" you shout as you cross the road. Once you two cross the street and not get hit by anything/anyone, you see a tall man with raven black hair and a nice outfit standing outside on his phone.

"Jumin, it's nice to see you again!" V says as he approaches the man. Jumin looks up and smiles at V.

"It's nice to see you too, Jihyun. I'm guessing this is the girl you have talked about?" V nods.

Jumin sticks out his hand. "Hello, I'm Jumin Han. It's nice to meet you," he says. His voice and personality seems to be very professional and cold. I hope he actually talks during this whole date. I shake his hand.

"I'm (F/N) (L/N), it's nice to meet you too." V leaves us and walks off for some picture opportunity he wanted. I walk into the café with Jumin. We get a ticket for an hour and sit down in a booth.

"Are you excited to be here?" he asks me as he observes the menu in front of him.

"Being around cats makes this a lot better, so I guess I can say I am. I have always loved cats, but I never was able to get one yet."

"I got a cat a few years ago. Her name is Elizabeth the 3rd." He unlocks his phone and shows me a (slightly blurry) picture of a fluffy white cat laying on a couch.

I giggle, "Adorable cat with an adorable name." The waiter comes and gets our orders. We talk about things like interests and work as we eat our food. Then, we go to play with the cats. We enter an area filled with cats of all colors and sizes playing around and sleeping. My eyes immediately light up, and I run to a small black cat. I see his tag says Kuroo.

"I must admit, these are some cute cats," Jumin says as he picks up a silver like cat who you later learned is named Lev. "Poor Elizabeth will be so confused when I arrive back home."

I laugh. More cats start walking around us as we sit on the ground. We sit in peaceful and happy silence for a while as we pet the cats walking around. Lev has grown quite found to him, meanwhile a small cat with black and almost blonde like fur sits next to me happily.

"I'm going to guess you are a cat person?" Jumin asks me.

"Well, I'm not really a specific type of animal person. I just love all animals. Cats are exciting for me because I have never had one before, or any pet in general besides fish. I've grown up with family members with other animals though." He nods and smiles.

"I can respect that. Actually, I have a question for you. How long have you known V?"

"We were childhood friends! We were always at the same schools when we were growing up, but we became friends when we first met. It was weird not having him around after high school. I'm only a year younger than him, so I was on my own not long after that. He's my roommate now, so he has somewhere to stay when he is in town. What about you?"

"We've been close friends since we were children. He lived in the same neighborhood as me, so we saw each other often. I'm surprised we have never met each other."

"Same, we have known him the same amount of time." I laugh quietly. I grab a stick with a toy at the end of it. The same blonde and black kitten spots the moving toy out of the corner of its eye and starts pouncing at it. Jumin finds a similar toy, and he does the same as me next to the kitten. It bounces back and forth between the two. We laugh and see our timer run out.

"Thank you for stopping by Tea and Tails. Some of these cats are available for adoption as we foster them here, so if you are interested please let us know!" A worker says as we hand her the timers. My eyes light up, and I stand up.

"Can I by chance adopt that cat?" I ask, pointing at the kitten we were playing with earlier. The lady picks him up and looks at his collar.

"Kenma? Why yes, he is available for adoption. We would need you to stay and fill out some forms for a while if you don't mind though." I look at Jumin.

"Would you like me to get some things for him? I already know what things cats need. We can meet up out here after," Jumin asks.

"You don't need to. I'll be able to do this later and pick him up."
I start to head towards the lady, but he stops me.

"Allow me. I would be happy to. Besides, it will give me a reason to stop by now since you have the kitten to play with. Elizabeth could have a friend." I sigh defeated and nod. He heads out, and I go to the back to fill out information forms and pay for equipment they are giving me.

After 15 minutes, I meet with Jumin in front of the café again, but this time with Kenma in a carrier and supplies in another. Jumin holds a small bag with a few toys and some treats. He brings me back home.

"You know, I had fun today. Maybe we can do this again soon, (Y/N)," he says as we get to my apartment.

"Definitely! Here is my number, so we can talk more. We exchange numbers and hug. "It was great meeting you, Jumin. I hope we can talk again soon."

"Likewise. Have a good day."

"You too!" I smile and wave before I walk inside. V is sitting on the couch with his camera connected to his laptop. "Hey V, guess what!"

"Yes?" he replies as he doesn't move his attention from the computer screen. I place the carrier down and pick up Kenma. Before V can realize, I place him down on legs. V jumps and looks at me surprised.

"Surprise! This is Kenma." He looks between me and the cat confused and shocked.

"I'm going to text Jumin about what choices you can make now."

For anyone who didn't know, there's an update for MM where they redesigned some things and apparently there's a new route/story mode coming out in August. The guy in it kinds looks like V, but doesn't at the same time. If it was (I don't think it is, but chances) a V route I would probably freak out. But hey, you never know!
