-Adam-
i woke up to my phone ringing. i looked at my phone. it's 8 in the morning. fuck my life. i checked to see who was calling me and of course, it was none other than my best friend, xavier. i called him again and he answered " RISE AND SHINE SLEEPING BEAUTY" he has always been a morning person, which i still don't get why. "can i ask why on earth are you calling me at 8 in the morning on a saturday??" i asked
"because it's the weekend" he said. "no shit captain obvious." i said.
he sighed. "c'mon adam it's a beautiful saturday morning and i'm starving so let's go grab some breakfast i've been craving some waffles lately" of course he was craving waffles.
"dude you're always craving waffles can't we eat anything else??" i said. "why are you so damn hard?!" he groaned. " maybe because you just woke me up at 8 IN THE MORNING" why is he my best friend again?? i say to myself. "woah chill man, fine we'll eat something else just get up i'll be there in 5 minutes" he said " okay see you later"
i hung up and got up to take a quick shower and change. 30 minuets later i was ready and xavier was laying on my bed waiting for me. "can we go already!" he said. "just one second i'll grab my phone and go have some patience!"i said
i grab my phone and we head outside, we got in my car and we head to the waffle shop..shocker, i know.
we got in, ordered our food and waited for it to come. i noticed a girl sitting at the back of the store alone and looking down at her hands. she looked so peaceful, like she was in another world and unaware of her surroundings.
i nudged xavier in his arm "hey, do you know who that girl is??" he looked at her and shrugged "no, i don't. i've never seen her here though, she must be new in town"he said. but i didn't think she was. but she got me really curios.
"would it be creepy or weird if i go talk to her?? like right now??" i asked him. "why would you do that?? the food is arriving soon" of course he only cares about his food."dude, i'm dead serious." i said "well it would be kinda weird. but why do you wanna talk to her?? you don't know her" he said.
"exactly, i don't know her. but i want to. i don't know, it's just..." he cut me off "ohhh the food's here" again, why is he my friend?? i say to myself.
we ate in silence and i kept watching her for a while. she didn't order anything, she just sat there looking down at her hands and never lifting her head once except for when the waiter asked what she'd like to order. she lifted her head to answer and i noticed her eyes. they were hazel, but sad, had life in them, but they weren't happy.
she shook her head and told the waiter something that i couldn't get but i guess she thanked him. a few minutes later we were done with our food and were getting ready to leave, but i didn't want to leave because i didn't think i'd see her again..
