AN: Really sorry for late and short update. Will surely catch up.
--------

It's been three days past the meet with Evan. He didn't call after that, just a few conversations on texts that too ended too soon. I knew this would happen some day, he would stop thinking about me when he got bored but I didn't know it would be this early. I only went out twice with him but now, I feel it was already a routine. Good thing was that I was able to write down a plot for my story. A love story.

I also got a call from Cover. The best advertising company in LA, that Martha mentioned. I did lose all hopes when I didn't get the call even after a week but the news made my day. I'll be paid a good amount, not too much but enough.

"Miss Markey?" A young woman, well dressed in a plain white shirt tucked inside a black fish tail skirt called out from behind the big blue sofa I was sitting on, in the Cover office.

"Here." I stood up clumsily and turned around to face her.

''You've been called in for the interview with Mr. Dempsey''

This is it. I will get the job, all I need to do is get my shit together and gather some confidence too. Not a dig deal right? I've been practicing the interview since morning.

The woman led me through the corridor. The walls were white but had birds painted on it. There was a single office at the end of the corridor and the walls near that were filled with the achievements of the company framed in black.

I straightened myself as I was gestured to go inside the office and the door was closed behind me and in front of me was a grand office, filled with plants and antic pots.

''Mr. Dempsey?'' I said with my cheery voice.

The chair turned around and an old man, maybe in his late 40s was sitting, reading a Spider-man comic book. My favourite one.

"Oh! Yes, Nova, please have a seat." He gestured towards the chair in front of his table.

''I've gone through your resume and its quite impressive . You really are creative." He put his book down on the table and rested back on his chair facing me and picked up a file.

"Thank you sir." I tried to sound confident but I don't really know how it came out.

He threw the file on the table with a funny annoyed look and picked his comic book. " I can't stand this wait, Maybe Spider-Man will die in this edition and the world is worried about money."

"Uh, No he won't die." I said excitedly but regretted the instance he looked at me in a confused look.

"What? How?" He said curiously.

"Harry will shoot the man and Spider-man will leave to save MJ and the people from the falling bridge." I gave out a little laugh at the end.

"Oh, I see." He took a look at the book then kept it down. "I think we're good to go then."

"So...Nova, why do you want to work with us?" He took another file from a folder beside his chair and fiddled through some pages. "Jesus, why do we even ask this question, you don't want to work here to save the planet, you obviously want to work for money."

I too smiled a little and answered. "Apparently yes. I am good at what I do too."

"Leave all about this work stuff." He waved his hand in mid air. "What inspires you to work? Like, not only to start something, but also to keep working."

I was prepared to answer all the questions about why I was perfect for the job and some brain storming questions. But what I was looking for right now was the answer to the question that Mr. Dempsey asked me. What inspires me? My ability to work? Competition? All of these are the factors but I know why I would start it.
