Chapter 11

Nanami's pov:

We all woke up around the same time. I yawned completely rested, yes I actually slept. Hitomi and Masaru said they would take turns keeping guard. I glanced at Tadashi who was still laying on the ground. I then said, "OI! Get your ass up?" He yawned as he turned over and said, "Leave my ass alone" "You know what I meant!" He nodded, "Yeah, sure" He got up as I looked over to Kaori. She looked at me and said, "Good morning!" Before I could say anything Tadashi passed by saying, "Say, are we close to the South yet?" Hitomi turned to look at him simply nodding in response. I felt a bit excited when she nodded. Yes! Once I get there I'll be able to find you.. Minori.

As we exited the building and got back on track, I noticed it was a little too quiet. Sure we're usually quiet but not this quiet. Maybe because they didn't sleep enough? Hmm.. I turned to see Kioshi who drove in front of me. He hadn't said anything since we left. I decided to break the silence, "So once we enter the South what will we be doing?" Hitomi yawned and said, "Well first of all, we'll have to get to safety which is our base. To make sure we come back safely some of our stronger comrades will await for us near the entrance." I was going to nod when I realized she said, 'Stronger' comrades. That led me to ponder about their strength. If one of them has laser like powers.. and their powers are all related then, does that mean the three of them have some sort of light related power? Hmm.. if so then, would their comrades be stronger than laser or light related powers? But then.. how strong are we compared to them? I sighed shaking all the thinking out of my head. I looked at the sky, it was it's usual non bright self. Masaru then said, "Just out of curiosity.. what will you guys do in the South?" I responded first, "I'll find my sister and bring her home!" Kioshi then said, "Home? You mean to the destroyed land the invaders caused?" "N-no. I'll..." I thought for a bit.. home... is home even..? I didn't know what to say but thankfully Tadashi spoke, "I'm just tagging along, maybe I'll join some organization between the lines" Kaori spoke her turn, "I'm going to help Nanami... and maybe just maybe, I'll find Zenix" Masaru asked, "Zenix?" "Mhm, my pet phoenix" "Ah, I see.." I looked down remembering Hasuki. Don't worry boy, I'll make sure to bring Minori home.. don't you worry just stay where you ar- "NANAMI!" As I turned to my left my eyes widened as I was face to face with a gun. I cursed my motorcycle for not hurrying.

-Fuck you robots-

I gritted my teeth but to my surprise it didn't shoot or move, instead it crushed itself. I gasped as I was safe after all! I turned around to see the robot continue to crush itself. I only stared as the robot didn't even have time to scream or shoot. It exploded as it's tubes crushed and broke off. The glowing liquid in the tubes spilled out like acid as the glass shattered. Masaru whistles amused as he merely whispered, "Not bad... not bad at all" The robot got crushed into a small ball. Kaori then said, "Ne! That was so fast!" I turned to see Tadashi shrug. Hitomi mumbled, "Yes it was" Kioshi then said, "But it's not the only one" I looked in the direction he was looking at and found that he was correct. About eight of them were coming. They ran as fast as they could, eyes and blue spots glowing. Hitomi then said, "You three take care of them, we'll take care of the rest" As I turned around I saw about ten more. The trio all got down as they revealed guns from their motorcycles. I see they use their powers as last resort. I sighed turning back to the pack we were told to take care of.

I chose to use wolf abilities. I let the tails and ears appear as well as for the gloves and shin guards. I ran at the robots as Kaori and Tadashi watched my back. I locked fists with the first robot I encountered. I then threw an under punch, snapping it's arm off. The liquid spilled as I grabbed a good grip on the tube and made sure I was stable as I carried it above me. I then threw it against the robot nearest to me making sure that they both clashed strong enough to explode. I jumped back dodging the explosion. As a robot behind me tried to claw at me it floated upwards moving to its last resort. Its guns. As it was getting ready to shoot Kaoir came in an slammed her food against the robot, with Tadashi's help he was able to give Kaori an extra boost with the kick, making the robot clash down stronger than it was supposed to. It stayed low until it began cracking and snapping apart. I then turned and shifted my chosen animal to a cat. I quickly clawed at the robot flinging it back. I jumped up and used it as  boost as I jumped into the air. I shifted my chosen animal to a lion as my leg slammed onto another robot's head crushing it inwards. I herd Kaori's ice beam finish off the robot I clawed. Tadashi then said, "Oi! Move out of the way!" Kaori and me did as he said. The air in front of us tensed up and shoved all the robots down to the ground. I didn't even think about sticking my finger in the wall of gravity before me. All the four remaining robots were crushed down like cans. Once his attack stopped, it was like a light switch but with gravity. I only swallowed hard as I looked at the robots and their strange spilled liquid. I then turned around to see Tadashi and the trio waiting for me and Kaori. Kaori looked at me and smiled as she said, "Isn't that a nice power?" I nodded not really knowing what to say.
