Chapter 16

Nanami's pov:
I chose to challenge Natsume.
I don't know what his power is but I have a clue. He used a pocket watch last time when he fought against Tadashi. Maybe that has something to do with his power. I also recall him healing Tadashi. I narrowed my eyes as we stood at our places. Perhaps injuring him will be more complicated than I had thought. As the rules were explain. I thought about how I can most successfully harm him. Suddenly the count down began.
5
I got into battle stance.
4
He stood still.
3
I narrowed my eyes trying to study his actions.
2
He pulled his right hand out from his pocket.

I waited a few more seconds seeing his smile as a threat. What could he possibly do? He uncurled his fingers letting his pocket watch drop. His fingers kept it from falling by holding the chain of his pocket watch. I tried remembering his ability... when we first met him everything froze. So his ability must have something to do with freezing time..? Tempering with time..? I extended my hands letting my lion enhancement take over. My gloves and their claws appeared, along with my necessary boots. I then ran towards him throwing a few punches in which he dodged like in hand to hand combat. He spun his pocket watch around waiting for me. I then stomped and let the ground flow, he simply jumped back. I stomped again and threw a claw beam at him. He then raised his hand in which held the pocket watch's chain. My strike froze before it even hit him. Then his eyes glowed. Before I could react I was frozen in place too, my attack was swung back to me! My own claw attack had injured my arm and side. I winced once I was able to move again. I glared at him, I'm not conceded or anything but using my own attack against me is an offense. I decided to be more careful. I used a soft attack, I threw a kick beam released from the claws on my boots. Though this time he simply dodged it. His fingers held the clock's chain's, never letting it slip out. That's when it hit me.
The pocket watch must be a source of power!
So I focused an attack on his hand and threw 2 claws. But just as they got inches away from me, they came right back at me. I yelled as I grippe my stomach. The claw marks were visible on my clothing. I narrowed my eyes and coughed out weakly, "HEY! This was some decent clothing!" He didn't even respond, rude.
I gripped my side ignoring him this time as he asked, "Are you sure you want to continue?"
Instead I decided to attack him with close combat. I threw repeated kicks remembering how he dodged them before. I speeded up using a bit of power to layer over my claws. I smirked this should be more effective.

Suddenly all my moves were extremely slow. Only my face was moving normally. "H-Hey!" He shrugged and said, "This fight really isn't fair, but I won't dare underestimate you, so I'll let loose." He walked up to me and flicked his fingers, it was like some pressure effect as I was going to the wall at an incredible speed. I groaned feeling my scratches sting. He spun his pocket watch around as it lightly glowed and shifted. It turned into a sword as he whipped it to his side letting a beam fly out. It flung and almost hit me as I dodged it. Is sword glowed menacingly though I didn't pay much attention to it. I won't let it bother me. I thrusted my hands in front of me and whipped them to the side letting my claws growl longer. I growled as his eyes gleamed. I ran at him and enhanced my feet with cheetah speed. My tail changed from a lion's to a cheetah demonstrating my change. I jumped up and threw two claws at him. He didn't stop them, though he did do something to them. They glowed differently as he extended his hand towards them. But he later dodged them leaving me confused. I landed enhancing my strength on my fists letting the floor flow again- no. I'd didn't. It was still. My hands hurt. I shook them as I got up spitting out blood?! He snapped his fingers letting the ground flow reverse launching me back into the air. There my claw attack struck me from behind. I screamed in pain, I was so very confused. What the hell. Once I fell to the ground my body felt heavy. My actions were all slow. Frustrated I tried breaking out of the trance of whatever the hell this is! But in the end he simply toyed with time. No matter how I attacked he reversed it or scanned it. Though I still wasn't sure what the hell the scanning was for. His weapon had changed back to the pocket watch when I wasn't paying attention. I turned to the time to see our time was almost up. I glared at him as his hands were in his pockets. His pocket watch's chain hung out like suspenders. His expressions wasn't readable. Tch. I closed my eyes.
I hate admitting defeat.
