Chapter 27

Mr. Grier, Nash, Cam, Hayes, and I went into Hayes' dad car because he drove up and had gas, and our rental cars didn't.

I sat in the back with Hayes and Cam.

"What did you do again?" Mr. Grier said.

"I misplaced my foot and fell. I put my hand out to break my fall and then I heard a popping noise. Now I can't move my hand and my wrist kills."

He took my hand and looked at him. He looked beyond terrified.

"What does this mean about football?" Hayes said.

"We will wait and see," his dad said, "But it's good that it's your non-dominant hand/wrist."

We drove in silence to the hospital.

When he walked in Hayes and his dad went into a room, so me, Nash, and Cam sat in the waiting room.

"Did he really just fall?" I asked.

"No," Nash said laughing, "He tried to jump from a chair to a bed ten feet away from it and failed."

I started laughing, "He would!"

"I bet he won't let them put a cast on him!" Cam said.

"Yeah!" Nash said.

"Why?" I asked.

"He won't be able to play football with one on," Nash said, "He'd rather hurt his wrist more than not play."

"Your dad would let him do that?" I said.

"That's true," Nash said, "He wouldn't let him!"

Hayes walked out a minute later and sat down.

"Dad is talking to the doctor about if I need a cast," Hayes said, "He told me to tell you that you can leave with the car if you want, Nila could pick us up."

"We are going to stay here," Nash said laughing a little bit, "We are having fun."

"Yeah right," Hayes said.

"Peace out homie," Cam said as Hayes walked back into the examination room.

Nash got up without saying anything, and went to the front desk.

"What's up with him?" I said.

"I don't know," Cam said looking confused.

A nurse handed Nash something and he started to walk back.

"Guess who got the drugs?" Nash said laughing.

"What?" Cam and I said really confused.

Nash got something out of his pocket and held it in the air.

It was gum.

I started laughing, "I was nervous for a second there!"

"Dude, did you really just ask the nurse for gum?" Cam asked Nash.

"No shame no game!" Nash said tossing us a piece.

We sat there for two more minutes until Nash said, "This is really boring, I'll get my dad's keys!"

When Nash went into the room, Cam asked me, "Are you going to stay with Hayes?"

"I'm sorry for him, but I wouldn't wait for Beyoncé!" I said laughing.

So there I was, walking out of a hospital with Nash and Cam.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Your choice!" Nash said.

"I'm not good at choosing!" I said.

"Let's hit up McDonalds!" Cam said, "I want a Big Mac!"

We walked up to the car and Cam screamed "Shotgun!"

I jumped because he scared me and nearly fell over because I was not balanced.

"Did I scare you?" Cam said laughing.

"Barely," I said laughing too.

Then, Nash drove to McDonalds.

We walked in when Cam dared me to ask the woman at the register if they were hiring in a deep voice.

"Sure!" I said.

No one was in line, so I walked up and said in my deepest voice, "Are you hiring? I'm interested in flipping some burgers and frying some fries."

Her face was priceless.

"Um sorry, what did you say?" She said.

"Never mind," I said in my highest voice, "I'm going to get a job at Burger King."

Nash, Cam, and I laughed so hard, soon we were kicked out of McDonalds.

It was 12 soon, and Nash and Cam had to get back to the hotel, so after another pit stop and getting kicked out of another fast food restaurant, we drove back to the hotel.

My crazy night was sadly over.

Aaliyah wasn't there, so I laid down and fell asleep because I was exhausted after everything that happened today.
