"Maybe..." I than felt heat rising to my cheeks.

"Well it's getting late I'm going to go to bed. Night T!" Erika said.

"Night Rik! Love yah." I said as I shut my door.

{couple days later}

"Hey Tess, are you okay?" Chance said as he walked up to me.

"Umm yah why wouldn't I?" I asked.

"The fight between you and Jake." Chance said as is if I was dumb.

"Ohhh yah I'm fine. We are starting to talk a little bit but it's on text. So..."

"Oh that's good." Chance said. Than there was a little bit of awkward silence. "Do you love him?" He asked.

"Who?"

"Jake, do you love him?"

"Yeah, I do. Don't tell him please." Did I really just say that!

{later that night}

"Ok everyone and I mean everyone! Is going to a team 10 family dinner!" Chance said.

Me and Jake just pretended to look annoyed. We than all got ready.

I than went into Jakes room. "Hey Jake." I whispered.

"Hey Tess I'm in the shower! I'll be right out." I than sat on his bed snooping around and I saw a ring. I instantly dropped on the ground. "Tess what was that!" Jake yelled.

"Oh nothing. I dropped my phone." I said nervously. He than got out with nothing but a towel on.

"What is that?" He said pointing to the ring on the floor.

"I was wondering the same thing! Where you going to propose?" I said sounding scared.

"What no! This is for my friend I'm holding it for him." He said.

"Oh ok." I said sounding relived.

I than went downstairs to wait for everyone.

At the restaurant I sat next to Jake and Erika. Me and Jake were holding hands but pretending to be annoyed with each other.

At home everyone went straight to bed. But me, I sat on my bed thinking how unhealthy it was to pretend to be in a fight with your boyfriend that no one knows about. Than I heard a knock. It was Jake. "Hey Jake, why are you here? Everything okay?" I asked we talked about everything earlier.

"Can I sleep here?" He sounded depressed.

"Sure, but only if you tell me what's wrong." I said now I was worried.

"The stress of buying a new house is really making me crazy. I just can't do this by my self."

"Than I'll help you." I took out my computer,"here type in your price and stuff."

He smiled and said,"Do you know how much you mean to me?"
