Screaming and yelling coming from the lobby below took the attention off of the carnage that the Tenderizer created. Scott and Sarah walked to the balcony and saw some of the guest being chased by Participants through the lobby. Those that escaped the fourth floor were now outnumbered and overrun. One by one they fell to the night's festivities. Scott's plea to remain together was being confirmed as everyone watched in horror at what was happening to those that thought they had gotten away. While everyone gathered around the balcony, they noticed that it wasn't just the ones that escaped that were being killed.

The third floor balcony was being crammed full of people as they were being attacked by Participants from the fifth floor. Unlike the fourth floor, the guests below didn't have any weapons to defend themselves with. The fourth floor could only watch in terror as the floor below was slaughtered.

"Maybe we should throw down some of our weapons," one of the guests yelled.

"One ax isn't going to help them out. We'll lose a weapon, and they'll just get it taken," someone else answered back.

The second floor began to spill out into the lobby as the guests ran down the stairs to escape Participants. The first ones down the steps were met with enthusiastic Participants who arrived first. There was nothing that the fourth floor could do. They all studied the crowd and noticed how much they were outnumbered. It was pure Pandemonium in the hotel below them. The hotel turned into a slaughterhouse.

As more guests were killed, the quieter the lobby became. Some people from the third floor climbed over the railing to escape, but were met by someone else waiting to attack. The Battle Royale was coming to an end and Scott hoped that the Participants would start turning on themselves when they ran out of guests. As long as his group was alive, there were always more guests to keep them busy.

A group of Participants followed another as he pushed a cart out into the middle of the lobby. A few danced around the cart as they situated themselves in the middle. For a moment, the group's attention left the cart and they looked up at the fourth floor balcony. They took a moment to taunt the balcony audience. Scott got an uneasy feeling and he grabbed Sarah's arm. Stepping away from the balcony, Scott knew that something bad was about to happen.

Before Scott could relay his feeling to the rest of the crowd, the attack began. The group below had various explosives in the cart that they surrounded. After lighting fuses, the group started throwing their explosives over the fourth floor balcony. Rather than trying to throw them back, most of the crowd ran from the explosives as they detonated. Each explosive was filled with shrapnel that ripped into the backsides of fleeing guests.

Running away from the balcony, Scott noticed the elevator doors open. From inside, three men, equipped with broken broom handles with knives taped to the ends, proceeded to stab at the crowd outside of the elevator. Both sets of attacks sent the crowd back into the hallway. A man had taken Trevor's backpack canister and directed a stream into the elevator. All three of the men were hit critically and fell backwards, screaming out in agony.

At the end of the hallway, a group of Participants began to block the exit. It was clear they were now organized and had a leader. A man stood in front of the group of Participants, wearing a suit and a caricature mask with a large smile, the man held back the group while he assessed the threat the group of Safeties posed.

With his hand still firmly around Sarah's forearm, Scott led her back toward the elevator. Seeing that the plan of them unifying was failing, Scott was now looking to escape. Several others noticed what Scott and Sarah were doing and they followed, without trying to bring attention to themselves. Before the crowd could ever notice the group's escape, a distraction broke out in the crowd.
