"That's what this is all about," Trevor questioned, after Scott explained the phone call he had received from the Orchestrator. As they stood over the amputee's body, Scott explained why Trevor and Scott were chosen by the Safe haven lottery, and the story behind the attackers on each floor.
"So, I'm thinking," Scott continued, "There's only one left. If we hide out, we run the risk of the Orchestrator leading the Tenderizer to us. We can just bring the fight to the Tenderizer. If we win, then we don't have anything more to worry about. We can just wait out the rest of the night...Hopefully we can get some sleep. I could use some rest."
"Yeah, we could do that," Trevor replied. "She's a big girl though. We're going to need a good plan."
"We just need some weapons. I wonder if we can get her arms off," Scott said pointing at the body below them. "We can get you another TV. You're successful with those."
"I don't want to test my luck with another TV. I got away with that once. Not going to risk it again. We need something with more impact that she's bringing to the table."
Sarah didn't have much involvement with the conversation, but when she did say things, they had the most impact. "How about that weapon of the woman downstairs? Whatever she was spraying around has to have an impact."
Both men looked at each other with smiles on their faces.
"Perfect," answered Scott.
With a plan, the group walked away from their victim and took the elevator downstairs. When the doors opened, Trevor was the first one off. He lightly jogged away from Scott and Sarah toward the body lying in the hall. When Trevor was out of ear range, Sarah turned to Scott.
"Dad, when we were hiding out, there was also a phone call made to our room."
"What'd they say," asked Scott.
"I don't know. I was in the bathroom. I heard him talking, but when I asked him about it, he told me that no one was there. I'm pretty sure he was lying."
"Well if he's hiding something, we probably shouldn't let him hold the only weapon."
Scott looked away from Sarah and watched as Trevor was putting on the canister backpack that was used by the disfigured woman. Scott worried about Trevor, but found relief in the thought that Trevor also helped save his and Sarah's life more than once.
"He's helped us out," Scott told Sarah. "If there was something to worry about, he'd have left us to fend for ourselves. We need each other. I'm pretty sure he knows that."
"Yeah," Sarah replied. "He needs us to help kill these monsters, but when they're dead, what then?"
"Then we rest."
Sarah didn't find comfort in Scott's replies. Trevor had helped them, but he was also hiding something. Maybe it had nothing to do with her, but there was the possibility of anything happening on a night like tonight. She couldn't shake the uneasy feeling as Trevor approached them.
"What's the matter," asked Trevor. "You two plotting against me?"
"No," Scott laughed. "We're trying to figure out our plan. How you want to go about this?"
"I'm not sure. I guess we can take the elevator up there, and see what's up. She'll most likely charge, and then I'll spray her all up in the face."
Scott thought about it, and didn't have much to argue. His concern was Sarah. He wasn't comfortable with her joining in on the attack. "Sarah, when we get up there I think you should hang back. I'd feel better, actually, if maybe you took shelter in one of these rooms. After we're done, I'll just come back and get you."
