Scott was still hiding under the table when the music shut off. In the distance he could hear his attacker throwing a tantrum. She slammed her metal spiked mallets against tables, and kicked them out of her way. A smile crept on his face when he knew the woman wasn't getting the results that she wanted. With the music gone the woman stopped her eruption, and they both sat in quiet. From underneath the tablecloth, Scott listened to her walking around. There was some security in the loudness of the music. Now that it was quiet, Scott was afraid it would be easier for her to locate him.
One by one, the woman flipped the tables as she walked by them. Luckily for Scott she was on the opposite side of the dance floor. Placing his face against the floor he watched her from underneath the tablecloth. He knew that eventually she would reach his side, and he was going to have to react. Wounded, Scott knew that he wasn't up for a fight. His best bet was to escape. Without some sort of weapon, he knew that his option was to keep running until the night ended.
He waited until she was the farthest away from him, as she was going to get, and he made his escape. Needing a head start, he waited until the lights went out before making his move. At the next sign of darkness, he pushed out from under the table and ran blindly across the dance floor. Luckily the lights came back on before he reached all the overturned tables in front of him. He was hurdling his first table when she caught sight of him and gave chase. There was just enough light to get Scott safely to the door leading back into the hallway.
Never looking back, Scott ran back toward the lobby. His only thought was forward. He was going to keep moving forward until he found somewhere to stop; it didn't matter where that was at this point in time. He wasn't a stranger to exercise and he felt that he could stay ahead of his attacker until she wore herself out. When her energy was drained, he would have some distance between them to safely look for somewhere to bunker down.
With his head start, Scott felt that there was more distance between them, but as he climbed the steps he notice that she wasn't that far behind. At the top of the stairs there wasn't time to wait for the elevator and Scott headed straight down the hallway of the second floor. The first thing that caught his eye were the melting bodies in the doorways he was running past. Feeling that he wasn't running in the best direction, Scott slowed his pace. As he ended his run, he focused his eyes on the disfigured woman securing her Plexiglass wall in front of him.
Stuck in between two evils, Scott weighed over his options. Just as the disfigured woman was noticing Scott, he was realizing that his pursuer was entering the hallway. Feeling that he had a better chance at getting past the skinny disfigured woman, Scott continued running down the hall.
The disfigured woman frantically retrieved her canister from the cart. She threw it over her shoulder and tried to get a grip on the nozzle as Scott approached. Scott had no intention on initiating contact with the disfigured woman. His plan was to get to the end of the hall and look for another staircase. She was bringing her nozzle above her waist as Scott ran past to put distance between them. She was too distracted on Scott to notice the person that was chasing him.
The woman lifted her meat tenderizer as she approached the disfigured woman. Heavy force brought the metal spiked blocked down hard in the back of the disfigured woman's head. Scott's pursuer tried to keep up with him, but her weapon was now lodged in the disfigured woman's skull. She carried the lifeless body of the woman for a couple of rooms before freeing herself. By that time Scott was around the corner and focusing on the fire escape in front of him.
Inside the stairwell, Scott knew that the door would be locked below him. Skipping steps he climbed the stairwell up a couple of levels, returning to his original floor. Without much time to think, he entered the floor and ran down the hallway back toward his room. Stopping in front of where this all started he looked inside the room. For a moment he thought about hiding inside, but decided against it.
