Okay. The whole day passes by well and good. Then comes the evening.

My mom comes and brings Aarav along with her.

They both sit down infront of me.  Aarav looks clueless but Mom's expression scares me.

She keeps that face when she tells what she wants and makes sure that she gets it.

"I am outta here. I don't want to listen to this," I jump up.

"Dia. Sit down."

I sit down with a sulky face.

She turns to him and smiles sweetly.
He is still clueless but gives a small smile too.

I wonder what she wants to talk about.

"She is a nice girl, isn't she?"she asks him.

What is wrong with her?

"Of course not. But I guess she is okay," he offers.

Gee thanks!

I make a face at  him.

"No seriously!"

"She is cool, Aunty. I like her."

"That's a relief.
Do you remember the discussion we had before we came here, Dia?"

I turn bright red.
No. Why is she doing this to me?

I look at her with pleading eyes but nope.
I return to my plate and refuse to look up again.

" Well, I told her she needs to get....,"she stops.

I look up to see her waving at Akhil.
He seems to be going somewhere.
I don't see the devil sister around him.

I start munching my samosa and keep my head down again.

"What do you think of Akhil?"

What?

"What?"

"Is Akhil a good man?"

No. I am a good person. This shouldn't happen to me.

"He is excellent, Aunty. You were saying something before?"

"Yeah. So I told Dia she needs to get married."

She actually said it loud.

Aarav lets out  a snort.

"Awesome."

"I think Akhil and Dia can make a good pair. You are the only one who knows both of them well. So I am asking you."

No reply.

I don't know what's happening but no way I am lifting my head.

Still no reply.

Aarav clears his throat.
I think he is staring at me.

"I never considered anything like that."

"Think about it and tell me later."

I hear her go away and I bang my head on the table.

Please God. Now is the time to wake me up.

But facing the hard truth, I realize it's not a dream.

Time to save my  pride.

I hear the word. So soft that I know he is very angry. Scary but thrilling.

"Dia."
