I'm not dissing any other countries. This is dedicated to JaydinFarro. People nowadays aren't as proud to be an American because of ... POLITICS! But I hate politics too, we can still be proud Americans. Here are some reasons why you should be proud of your American heritage and/or home!
1. We Have Freedoms
In some countries children can't read, women can't work, only a certain religion is allowed. Most of these don't exist now, but there still are some countries out there. We are allowed to be whatever we want to be, Say whatever we want or need to say, Practice whatever faith we want, and I could go through a whole long list but we were the first country to gain all this. Freedom comes at a price. Our brave men and women in the armed forces are willing to pay the price... With their lives.
2. Our Military Is Strong
America always had a big army. But it's always increasing. More and more people are willing to die to protect and serve their country, America that most of us think is a piece of trash. People died for your so called trash. They DIED.
3. We're intercultural
Ever since America started we've been accepting new people from other countries. The Irish Mormons, German immigrants and more. We carry our bicultural history with pride because we all come from a different country. Even Native Americans traveled here! Believe it or not The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade was made to honor their Immigrant workers. The man who created the first parade balloon was in fact an Italian immigrant who invented the Marionette puppet.
4. We've helped Tons of other countries
It's true! Operation Christmas Child, Our work through the united nations and a lot of things helped us save foreign lives throughout the world! My personal favorite is Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. My dad was involved in it and told me about it.
5. We Do Not Resort To Violence
All soldiers and police are taught that violence is a last resort. Even the president has to do this. We've avoided wars by simply talking and thinking.
6. We Have Some Amazing Pieces Of Literature
Classics were written here! Some amazing authors came from the U.S like: Mark Twain,Lois Lowry, Laura Ingles Wilder, Lois Gladys Leppard, Geronimo Stilton, Dr.Suess and a ton more! Some of the greatest pieces of literature is located here.
7. This Is The Home Of Disney
The mouse house is intercultural but this country was Disney's true home. The childhood films we know and love came from here. Along with Minnie,Mickey, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy. All American.
8. Hogwarts Name Was Created Here
J.K Rowling was on a trip in N.Y. She saw a plant with a certain name and it gave her the idea to name the school Hogwarts.
9. We've Given Jobs To Other Countries
If you've ever heard the story about Oreo moving to Mexico, it's true. They moved there to give people more jobs instead of immigration. The U.S has fast food in a lot of countries and that's given a lot of them jobs.
10. We fight for what's right
Ever since the revolutionary war, we've had a sense of defiance. That led to the civil war, and even now. We fight to keep order and stop what we as a country feel is morally wrong.
11. We Led The French To Have A Revolution
After they helped with our revolution, the French realized how wrong Louie the 16th and Marie Antaninett were. So they overthrew their rulers and became independent!
