When I first heard about Ariana Dumbledore, I thought oh cool! When she died: HOW COULD YOU!?
My mom is a non-potterhead, she chose my name randomly (I love that!), But I tell myself I'm named after Ariana Dumbledore.
First some quotes about her:‘When my sister was six years old, she was attacked, set upon, by three Muggle boys. They’d seen her doing magic, spying through the back garden hedge: she was a kid, she couldn’t control it, no witch or wizard can at that age. What they saw scared them, I expect. They forced their way through the hedge, and when she couldn’t show them the trick, they got a bit carried away traying to stop the little freak doing it.’
Then, when she was fourteen ... see, I wasn’t there,’ said Aberforth. ‘If I’d been there, I could have calmed her down. She had one of her rages, and my mother wasn’t as young as she was, and ... it was an accident. Ariana couldn’t control it. But my mother was killed.
‘I resented it, Harry… I was gifted, I was brilliant. I wanted to escape. I wanted to shine. I wanted glory. Do not misunderstand me,’ he said, and pain crossed the face so that he looked ancient again. ‘I loved them. I loved my parents, I loved my brother and my sister, but I was selfish, Harry, more selfish than you, who are a remarkably selfless person, could possibly imagine.
‘So that, when my mother died, and I was left the responsibility of a damaged sister and a wayward brother, I returned to my village in anger and bitterness. Trapped and wasted, I thought! And then, of course, he came …’‘…I pulled out my wand, and he pulled out his, and I had the Cruciatus Curse used on me by my brother’s best friend – and Albus was trying to stop him, and then all three of us were duelling, and the flashing lights and the bangs set her off, she couldn’t stand it –’
The colour was draining from Aberforth’s face as though he had suffered a mortal wound.
‘– and I think she wanted to help, but she didn’t really know what she was doing, and I don’t know which of us did it, it could have been any of us – and she was dead.’‘Grindelwald lost control. That which I had always sensed in him, though I pretended not to, now sprang into terrible being. And Ariana ... after all my mother’s care and caution ... lay dead upon the floor.’
‘I put it on, and for a second I imagined that I was about to see Ariana, and my mother, and my father, and to tell them how very, very sorry I was…’
Here are some pics too.
People tell me I look like Hermione and Ariana mixed. I like that. I act like both sometimes too. But we're a lot like.
1. Only girl
2. Two brothers
3. Can do weird things
4. Secretive
5. Strange
7. Same hair color
8. Have a relationship with the dead
9. Called freaks
10. Sometimes sweet
I could go on and on.But here are some questions I have
1. Did they call her Ari?
In Anger management, Dumbledore knew my name the second he saw me. Is that because I looked like her when she was younger and childhood flooded back to him. He called me Ari. (K wrote that he did)2. Is she in the undead world?
I have the connection with the dead,so would I be able to find her there? Even worse that I have that connection for Dumbledore and Aberforth.3. Did they have a pet?
I know this is weird but I'm curious! I like she should've had a cat. It'd be good for her.4. What was her favorite flower?
She was clearly out in the garden for something? What's her favorite flower?5. What was her favorite song?
I want to know her taste in music. My interaction with Ariana:
*in BV, Under stairs, Emily's houseSees Person through window that looks just like me
Goes closer
BANG
Hits face on window
Is now unconscious
Undead Ariana checks pulse
I'm up
Ariana: screams
Me: it's okay. I tend to do that. I'm Ariana, everybody calls me Ari. Be warned,I'm half undead. I flicker
Ariana: Okay. I'm Ariana.
Me: Noice! We look alike and have the same name and look alike!
Ariana*nervous chuckle: I guess so.That was for: Cheerfulcomet, utterlyhermione, and RavenClaw_K.
Can anyone draw that?
A window between me and Ariana? That'd be really cool!
Not asking though. Just thinking (I tend to do that a lot.) But still it must be hard for Albus to actually believe I exist.
