"Hey!"

"Hey!"

"Hey, Kid!" Someone shouts, shaking me softly.

Groaning slightly, I open my eyes, only to find myself faced with the same silver eyes from before I blacked out. I try to sit up, but the pain that shoots through my body is enough to keep in laying down.

Wait.

When did I get on a bed...!? Where am I!? Who is this person!?

"Rosaline... Kano," I whisper almost inaudibly, but the person hears.

I notice their inky-black hair, but also the bizarre silver streaks in it, matching his eyes. Their face looks young, but older than most people I know, aside from adults. So, why is he calling me 'kid'? I'm probably only a year or two younger than him. Who is this guy?

"Your two friends? They're fine. They're right next to you," he says, looking over to my left and right.

I use a small movement to catch a glimpse of Kano's fiery hair, then Rosaline's face. At least they're safe... I hope. They also rest on beds, and they both have multiple bandages and minor scratches from the crash. From what condition I saw Kano in when we first crashed, I know that they've had a lot of medical care.

They both have a clean white sheet over-top their bodies, like I do, too. The lack of the beep of monitors makes me even more curious. In fact, none of us have IVs, nor do we have anything medical nearby except bandages. The room itself is fairly large, with pale blue walls and a white floor. There are windows at every few feet, and a lots beds, too, probably almost fifteen, including the ones we're currently on. The room stretches down, reminding me of some kind of military infirmary.

But this raises the same question: where are we? And who is this guy?

"Where...ar-?" I start, but the guy cuts me off.

"Don't worry; like I said before, you're safe."

I scrunch up my eyebrows in confusion. He's not helping at all, and is only making me more nervous. Where are we really? This guy's hiding where we really are, but is he so bad? I mean, he did get us medical care.

But, then I remember the conversation I heard before I blacked out. They said something about 'Jade going too hard on them'. Was this 'Jade' person the one who made us crash? But how? I don't know exactly what happened, but I know that I never heard anything that signaled someone doing something, only hard rain, then the crash.

The only way something happened was if someone manipulated the natural elements to make us crash.

Are these people Specials too?

The questions now floating around in my head give me the strength to fully wake up, only so I can ask said questions.

"Who are you?" I demand.

"Name's Razor. You?"

"Ryan," I reply hesitantly.

"Ryan... and I'm assuming the other two are Kano and Rosaline, correct?"

I nod slowly, feeling skeptical. Should I be revealing who we are to this guy? He has yet to do anything wrong, but I told myself I would become useful to Rosaline and Kano, and that I wouldn't trust so easily. Is it useful to reveal who we are?

"You can trust me. If it wasn't for us stopping you, you all would've fallen right into the clutches of the government," Razor says.

"What!?"

The government knew all along? So, this whole time, we've been running for nothing. They knew where we were, when we would arrive somewhere, and what we would do. But, I go rid of the patch! What did we do wrong? Were we too slow or something?

"Yeah. Down the road, a whole squad of guards were positioned to capture you all once you drove near. We luckily caught sight of it, and got to you first. Sorry for the injuries; we never intended for you all to sustain such major injuries."

"How did you cause us to crash?"

He stares at me blankly, before blinking. "Oh, I thought you would've figured it out. We're Specials, too. One of our younger ones, she manipulated the weather, which distracted the driver and caused her to swerve off the road, but, Jade made the rain too heavy, and the car ended up flipping. I was able to keep the car from killing you all, but you still sustained injuries."

"How did you-?"

"Keep the car from killing you?"

I nod.

"Well, I can manipulate metal, so I was able to keep most of it off you."

I lean back, absorbing this new information. So, they made us crash. I turn back to Razor, ready to ask more questions. I'm about to open my mouth, when he puts a finger up, shutting me up.

"I know you have tons more to ask me, but right now, you need rest, got it? I'll come back in a little, with more people."

I can only nod, as he gets up from the stool he was previously seated on, and walks to the door. He opens it up, stepping through the threshold, before turning around, a grin on his face.

"Welcome to Greensafe," he tells me, before leaving, closing the door behind him.

I look up at the ceiling, thinking. We almost got caught by the government, again. How, though? I got rid of the patch! Maybe they did follow us, even though we thought we were safe. But then, if they were following us, why didn't they just capture us a week ago? It doesn't add up.

Again, it couldn't be Kano's or Rosaline's fault, since they haven't been near the government in at least months. So... the only other explanation is that I did it again; I led them to us. What if I lead them here, too? I can't let that happen. Wherever this is, this is obviously a safe place for people like us, for Specials. I can't be useless again.

I feel my eyes start to grow heavy from exhaustion, though I don't know why seeing as I've been getting so much sleep recently. I guess that crash took a lot more out of me than I first thought, as well as that conversation with Razor.

Razor; what a strange name.

I'll have to ask him more questions later, then.

Aha! I got this out on time! Yay! I'm already working on the next chapter, but I know I have to be farther along if I want to stay on top of my schedule.

I'm trying, and I have the free time now with summer, so I have no excuse to not write.
