Sam's P.O.V.
The next morning I woke up early to the sound of a shower. I guess the bathroom for this room is also connected to Cam's room and he still had school today since it was a Thursday after all. Even though I didn't have to I changed into some baggy sweats and a sweater, pulling my hair into a low messy bun as I walked down the stairs. I found Mrs. Dallas in the kitchen making breakfast.
"Good Morning!" I piped up cheerfully.
"Good Morning! your up early. Did Cameron wake you?" she asked somewhat concerned.
"No. Well yes but it's no big deal. I'm used to waking up about now because of the time difference anyways." I explained. "Do you need help with anything?" I offered politely.
"No thanks dear. Want some coffee? I just made it." She offered back.
"No thank you. I'm not really a fan of coffee." I admitted my strange quality. Just then we heard footsteps down the stairs and Mrs. Dallas waved me over to hide behind the counter where she was.
"Hey Mom." He greeted addressing his mother.
"Hey Cameron. Do you want a ride to school today?" Mrs. Dallas offered, even though Cam drove himself to school.
"Nah Mom I'm fine. Thanks though. Hey what do you think of Sam?" he asked grabbing my attention.
"She's darling. So sweet and funny too. And you two look very cute together." She said as if she forgot I was there."So uhh how do you feel about her. You know I'm all ears when this kind of thing comes up." She reassured him.
He took a while to answer, thinking of a perfect response. "She's great. I mean, she's not like other girls. She's real. But I can tell that she gets nervous around me. I like hanging out with the real her, not the nervous one that is awkward. I wish she would be easier to open up when we're alone, so I can get to know her better." he said truthfully. I wanted to show him the real me, I really did, I was just scared. I've had these walls up for so long and he's finally making them all fall down.
"She probably just needs some time. She needs to know that she can trust you. Tell her your secrets, and she'll tell you hers. Try doing it in a fun way too. She'll love that. But make sure you tell her how she makes you feel, honestly." I'm pretty sure Sharon forgot I was here by now.
"I've tried. It's just hard because we haven't known each other very long and it feels so right but it all feels so fast. I've never done this stuff with a girl before." I heard him explain. Just then Mrs. Dallas looked down at me and motioned with her hand to stand up so Cameron couldn't see.
I slowly stood up. He wasn't looking in my direction at first but then I finally caught his attention after a few moments. "how long have you been standing there?" he question frantically.
"The whole time." I said smiling. I had to open up to him. He wanted to know the real me and I planned to show him.
"So you heard everything I said." he said clarifying. I nodded and took a few steps towards him. He got up from the other side of the counter and met me in the middle of the floor. "So now that you know how I feel, what are your emotions?" he whispered, a worried look in his eye.
"Well, I think you have the right to wish for me to open up to you more. And I feel the same way about the rest. But I also think your mom is right and we should take a chance." I said lowly. It was unclear whether or not Sharon could understand what I said but I knew Cam could. He leaned down and kissed me again. Nothing like the one from yesterday, this one was soft and slow, but only lasted a few seconds because Mrs. Dallas was after all, still standing right there.
