Please read my other story 'Alpha's Tragedy' with Alpha Braiden based in another pack!

Ryder peered down at his Luna and weakly smiled at her sleeping state in his arms. His perfection. His fragile angel. His and his alone. A hot flush of anger flowed through him every time he thought of some sick bastard, especially Damien, laying a single hand on her and he hadn't even learnt the full extent of what Fay had been put through.

The driver pulled to a halt outside of Hayes' mansion and Ryder got out lifting Fay into his arms once again. His fragile angel stirred slightly and rubbed her eyes sleepily.

"Sorry if I woke you, we're at the mansion now. We'll go to our room and talk some more. You need to tell me what exactly is going through your head so I understand, so I can help you," Ryder said with much authority but his voice still seemed caring to Fay in a strange way.

"If you're my mate can you cure me?" Her voice was soft, gentle, almost like a jewellery box's music to Ryder's ears. With his eyes gleaming, he looked down at her, beyond happy that she had spoke to him out of choice rather than being asked.

"We are not sure yet but I can promise you that we are doing everything possible to get this better," he said as he placed Fay on the ground and fumbled for the key to the room that Hayes had allowed them to have. "Fay can you tell me why this happened? Can you tell me why you have these manic episodes?"

A large, four poster, double bed only took up a fraction of the room. Gentle cream was the main colour theme for the room with the furniture being made out of the finest oak and a soft, fluffy carpet lay coating the floor giving it a homely feel.
Fay hadn't seen such luxuries since before 9 years ago and only had she seen basic luxuries in her home. But she couldn't remember where that was or what Pack she came from.

"Mas- Dami- He," she choked back a sob.

"Were you going to say master? Fay you need to try to explain. Try to breathe. You're so strong princess," Ryder whispered guiding her to the bed and sitting her down.

"He had these two poles and he put them on my head. I felt so much pain rush through me and, and, and the white flashes hurt my eyes," Fay's voice cracked as she couldn't make eye contact with her mate.

"Did he-" Ryder cleared his hoarse voice before speaking again, "did he electrocute you Fay?"

She just nodded her head allowing her tears to betray her and escape.

"What happened after that?"

"Please don't make me."

"Fay you need to tell me what happened so I can understand why you are like this, so I can help you," Ryder demanded in the gentlest way he could manage through his anger directed towards Damien.

"Left me by the side of the road to die. He didn't want me after I turned insane. I-" she gulped visibly, "I killed people."

Tension filled the room as Ryder tried to process that his little princess had been tortured, left by the side of the Pack crossing which was much like a desert and that she had even killed people. His sweet girl had been tainted- but this wasn't her fault. All anybody had to do was look into her eyes to find a broken, abused soul yet she was so full of tenderness and not a naturally viscous bone in her body was in sight.

Ryder stood from the bed and pulled back the sheets, cautiously grabbing her tiny arm and guided her under the covers. The Alpha's heart broke at her frightened expression along with her trembling form.

"Please don't be scared of me," he whispered into her ear softly.

"But you might kill me."

Ryder pulled back as though somebody had just shot him through the chest with a silver bullet. Tears brimmed his eyes and his breathing faltered for a moment before he stormed out of the room before Fay saw the side of him that she truly would be terrified of/ the side of him that gained him his reputation. The side of him that he could never allow Fay see.

You might kill me, her soft voice echoed in his head, you might kill me. Never. He couldn't ever even do much as harm a single hair upon her beautiful head. He needed to find a cure and he needed one now. Briskly walking through the dimly lit corridors as it was gaining on night time, Ryder found his way to Hayes' office and barged in only to find Hayes deep in conversation with his father, Dexter, and his mother.

"She needs a cure now Hayes," Ryder began, "I don't care how far we have to go, what we have to do, who we have to kill. I will get my mate better dammit!" He shouted as his fist plummeted down harshly against the desk.

Dexter's mouth formed a straight line in a sort of grimace, Hayes' mother sat there wide-eyed with her lips slightly parted and Hayes dropped his head into his hands in defeat.

"Doctor Richard wishes to try... therapy... well, a type of therapy until we find something better," Hayes explained with severe caution.

"What type of therapy?"

"Exposure therapy along with the aid of prazosin to assist in any PTSD or nightmares that Fay may suffer from," Hayes began.

"Will it work Hayes?"

Silence. Ryder sighed becoming frustrated. Being an Alpha he always knew what to do but it appears this time that no Alpha knew what to do and his Fay may be broken for life.

"We have members of the Sagacity Pack researching into the legend of the blood exchange at this very minute Ryder. I'll do everything to save Fay too," Hayes explained as he glanced anxiously at his parents.

Ryder spun around quickly to face the three of them in sudden realisation.

"You've found her haven't you?" He asked but said it as more of a statement.

"Fay is her."
