It was on the way back into Alpha Hayes' Pack, the Obsession Pack, that Ryder first detected something was wrong. Something was incredibly wrong.
People were walking about, chatting like usual. The weather was perfectly normal for this pack with the intense rays of sun beating. Nothing had been destroyed in a sign of war. Yet something felt... Off. incredibly off. Almost as though something wasn't quite whole but Ryder couldn't put his finger on it.
Pushing that thought to the back of his mind as a bit of paranoia from being in the Underworld with terrifying spirits all around him, Ryder proceeded to approach Alpha Hayes' home in his human form where his stomach completed many somersaults at the anticipation of arriving and being able to have his mate in his arms once again.
Only this time she would be cured.
They could get to know about each other.
She would learn how to love him and he would teach her what true love is and take care of her until they both grew old and died alongside one another.
Knocking on the door and walking straight in, Ryder didn't bother for a response as he knew that Hayes would be awaiting his arrival and discussing with Alpha Carter a plan for the armies that would be sent out to slaughter Damien and his little group of rogues.
But something still wasn't right. A gut wrenching feeling churned in his stomach and felt the impulse to race upstairs to Hayes office. He knew his impulses should never be ignored, it was like a sixth sense for him as an Alpha- one that was usually correct so that's exactly what he did- he leaped upstairs, kipping two steps at a time.
"Hayes! Carter! I've returned!" Ryder shouted bursting through the office door to find Carter leaning over a map laid out over a desk, stationary and other equipment strewn over the floor and Hayes sitting in the chair with his fists grasping his hair tightly with his elbows resting on his knees and he sat hunched over.
"We didn't know. He used some type of magic, we didn't even know he knew where she was!" Hayes shouted making Ryder anger at the tone being used towards him but he pushed that aside because he had a good idea as to who her was in Hayes' outburst.
"Damien... He took Fay..." Alpha Carter explained quietly as he remained focused on the map, reading various paragraphs from multiple books and then marking spots on the map in front of him.
"And you fucking let him? I left you with one job to do Hayes! Look after my fucking mate and you failed me!" Ryder stormed as he began to storm over to Hayes with his fist balled tightly and his eyes glowing, showing that his primal wolf was ready to surface and kill.
"Ryder," Carter warned in an Alpha tone making him slow his actions as a sign of respect for the other Alpha, "Damien used magic to get past us, nobody saw him come in and nobody saw him go out- he forced her to go to him and from there he took her."
Utter silence fell over the office for several minutes, the two other alpha's watching as Ryder's face contorted through a variety of emotions: sadness, emptiness, confused, hurt and finally anger. The torturous silence was finally broken when Ryder roared with such anger and threw a bone-crunching punch into the wall with his fist going straight through the wall.
"You need to stay strong," Carter muttered, "you need to stay strong for her. We have trackers out and scopes everywhere spying on their territory to find exactly where they are holding her. But tell us, how was the Underworld? Did you learn anything?"
Ryder sighed with a tear escaping down his face that he wiped away quickly with the back of his wrist. It was okay to cry for his angel, she was his weakness. His only weakness. And he would destroy Damien in the most painful way imaginable in order to avenge Fay.
"He dumped her by the side of the road and left her for dead, why would he want her back?" Hayes thought, clearing his mind and trying to think tactically like an Alpha should.
"He's knows she's an Alpha's mate and cousin. She'll bare him strong kids," Carter spat with disgust at that thought. He had always had morals and someone taking an innocent girl to rape and abuse made him sick to his stomach. Fay had to be saved.
"She will bare nobody's kids but MINE, she will mate with nobody but ME, she is MY mate, MY Luna," a dangerously, low, even voice growled out. Hayes and Carter turned to look at Ryder.
"She's definitely my cousin, they found her links back to me," Hayes muttered turning to the map.
"Then what are we waiting for? We have a bastard to destroy," Ryder smirked with such venom laced within his words that it sent a chill down the other Alpha's spines.

"Silus," Ashton whispered as they his amongst the branches of trees surrounding.
"It's underground," Silus muttered back to Ashton as he peered through branches trying to figure out the exact location Fay was being held at.
A small hatch in the ground was lifted by a guard to reveal the start of wooden steps down into the ground and a slight slither of light in contrast to the dark night that covered the two Alpha's that were scoping the area.
"Are you sure she's being held there?" Ashton whispered back.
"Of course."
"How are you sure? We haven't seen her," Ashton questioned.
"I just have this feeling," Silus rolled his eyes.
"You and your feelings... Wait, you have feelings?" Ashton jeered at Silus whilst smirking.
Silus turned his face slowly towards Ashton and before Ashton even had a chance to react, Silus reached out and slapped the back of Ashton's head making him hiss in pain and chuckle slightly.
"Well..."
"Don't, Ash."
"I probably deserved that," Ashton laughed quietly. "But seriously, are you sure that she's there?"
"Well, how many places have underground chambers if they aren't hiding something?"
Ashton just nodded in agreement and the two Alpha's continued to watch and observe the patrol in order to learn their times to find the easiest time to attack the rogues.
"Silus, I think we should-"
Ashton was cut off by a terrifying screaming alarming from the hatch underground. Fay. Guards patrolling the area started laughing talking about how the bitch deserved everything she was getting, making Silus feel a burning desire to strike down and kill every last rogue here.
"We need to leave before you do something that ruins the entire mission, Silus," Ashton growled lowly, clearly feeling the impact of an innocent girl being tortured and having no power to be able to do anything at this time.
Silus nodded his head stiffly with a stoic expression as they turned to leave and report back to the to the other three alphas.
"Let's go."
All the pair wanted to do was turn and rescue Fay then. Her screams were mortifying and the pair felt powerless against what was happening to her.
