The band adjusts equipment and the lead singer goes up to the microphone again. "Thanks so much. I'm Eric, by the way. And while I'm introducing myself, I'll introduce the rest of the band. We've got Hunter on drums," He points to the drummer who has blond, long, shaggy hair and pink shirt on. He taps his drumsticks a few times. "And, Ezekiel on piano." Ezekiel shoots him a glare and runs around his keyboard to the mic. He steals it from the front man.

"I go by Zeke," he says quickly and runs back to his rightful place behind his instrument.

The audience laughed a little at that and Eric continues on. He gestures towards Alex. "That is my main man Alexander Gram Bell on guitar." Alex laughs at his supposed name, and then jogs over to the mic.

"It's Alex, thank you very much." He winks. The audience laughs again and I almost have a heart attack.

"Yeah, yeah. Anyways, now that you've met the gang, let's play another song, eh?" The café bursts in cheers and Eric tries to calm us down. "Okay, here's 'The Man'."

Hunter does a quick 1,2,3,4 like before and starts to bang on his drums. It's mostly him for the beginning and everyone in the building is bobbing their heads. Then Alex and Eric come in; Zeke following shortly after.

To my surprise, Alex starts singing at Eric's mic.

"I can't be the man any longer,

You know that just isn't me,

Maybe our lives would be easier if we lived them separately,"

He backs up and I'm stunned.

He sings.

He plays guitar.

He's sweet.

And he's hot.

Basically, he's perfect.

The song ends and the restaurant cheers the band on.

"Thank you all so much; we love playing for you guys. Next song?" Eric asks both the band and the audience. We cheer and Alex beams. He really loves it up there. "Alright, boys, looks like they want another song, then!" More cheering. "Okay, here's 'Where We Belong'."

Alex has swapped his electric guitar for an acoustic one and sits on a stool directly next to Eric. Alex is strumming casually, like he could perform this song in his sleep. It's just Alex playing, actually. Zeke and Hunter sit at their spots, listening to Alex play. Soon, Eric starts the song. It's a slow song, undeniably a love song. The three other members of the band sing soft, "oooh"s in the background. I'm silently begging Alex to do a solo again so I can hear his smooth, yet gruff voice. He never does. His voice is mixed in with Zeke's and Hunter's. I pout but still enjoy the song. Eric's voice is really good.

The song ends, followed by softer clapping because of the much more slow love song.

"Could he anymore perfect?" I ask the girls, and they respond by violently shake their heads. "I feel like if I talk to him, I'm going to make a fool of myself."

"You have to be confident, Jules," April says. "Don't try to make him fall for you; treat him like a friend."

"Yeah. You wouldn't want to scare him off," Lucy adds.

I sigh, but nod. I don't want to be Groupie Girl. I want him to see me as a friend first. It's better than me trying to flirt. I suck at flirting. If I tried to do Groupie Girl's finger wiggling, it would look like I have a spasm. I'd like for him to think I'm confident and I'm just a fan. NOT a groupie.

"Alright, well, it seems tonight must end," I hear Eric say at the mic. I check my phone to see it's already close to 9. And it's a school night. I should be heading home soon.

The audience boos at the mention of the night being over. "But, don't worry; we have another show this weekend at the Fitz Pub on 80th and Whitman. We'll be out and about after I'm done babbling, so, if you'd like to have a chat, come on down! Alright, I'm Eric." He says, and then motions to Alex.

My breath catches as he says, "I'm Alex."

Please God, don't make me mess up talking to him.

Alex motions to Zeke. "I am the one and only piano man. My name's Ezekiel, but the ladies call me Zekey Boo Bear or, I'm also known as-"

Hunter interrupts him quickly. "His name's Zeke. Shit, man, how long were you gonna talk for?" The audience laughs and so does the band up on the stage. "Anyways, I'm Hunter. Thanks for coming out tonight!" The crowd goes wild, so to speak. The whole band smiles and waves, going off to the side of the stage.

A pout resides on my face. They were really good, especially Alex. I'm kinda sad to see the performance end.

"Alright, girls, let's find them, have a flirt or two, and get out of here," April says quickly, shooing us out of the booth to see where The Way could've gone. We push through the already thinning out crowd and I have my eyes open and scanning the restaurant for a white t-shirt.
