"He's not a douche!" I say to Alex when we're back sitting on the bleachers next to April. She gave me a look as to say, "Are you okay?" when we got back and I quickly nodded. I'm glad that Alex ran after me and apologized, even if he didn't do anything. It was all my fault, I'll admit. My heart and feelings for Alex can only take so much hugging and hand holding and basically him being cute, before I can't take it anymore. I want it to be real. Not just friendly.
"April," Alex starts, leaning over me to see April. "Is Chad a douche?"
April thinks for a moment. "Not really, actually. The bad thing about him is-"
"That he's a douche?" Alex interrupts. I smack his shoulder.
"No...I was gonna say he's been having an off and on relationship with this bitch, Madison." April says.
"They're taking a break, though." I pipe up.
"Where is this chick? Point her out or something." Alex says, looking over the people's heads in front of us. Alex is looking around in way like he knows exactly what Madison looks like, when in reality he doesn't. The game has already started and I'm surprised everyone isn't out of their seats already.
"Oh, she never comes to his games." April says, dismissing the thought with a wave of her hand. My mouth drops open.
"Madison never comes to Chad's games?" I ask in disbelief. When they're together, you can't separate the two.
"Nope. Weird isn't it?"
"It's not weird; it's bitchy." Alex shakes his head, staring sadly down in his lap. "And, it's the same thing Blair does to Eric."
"What do you mean?" April questions, leaning over me a bit to listen to Alex. The crowd around us start cheering, but we don't join in.
"She's never seen him in concert." Alex explains to us, over the noise of the crowd. "Well, we don't do concerts, but a gig. She's never seen a gig of ours."
"And how long have they been together?"
"A year and a half maybe." Alex shrugs, but still has a saddened face. I know he really cares about Eric and all his band mates. I would feel the same way towards Blair. Why would you not want to see your amazing hot boyfriend sing in a badass band?
"That's terrible." I think out loud. I put a hand on Alex's shoulder to comfort him and he smiles slightly.
"It just sucks, man, because I know Eric acts he just uses her for sex. He doesn't actually feel that way. Deep down he loves her. I hope." Alex voices.
"It took Logan quite a while to say 'I love you' to me. I mean, I always knew it, but it was sweet." She sighs, like now she's regrets bringing him up.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's going on with you and that guy?" Alex asks. He turns to me and I nod, indicating that it's okay.
"He thinks I cheated on him with Chad. Who I've seen in diapers." She rolls her eyes. "That's why he ignored me for so long. Then he came to school, punched Chad like an idiot would, and told me we would have to talk."
"He's an asshole, April." I say.
"You guys keep saying that, and I know it's not true. I love him and this is all a huge, huge misunderstanding. He knows I'd never cheat. Things just have to get back to normal." She huffs, probably fed up with all this talk about Logan.
"I bet if he knows you didn't cheat, he'll come back." Alex reassures her.
"I even asked him to come tonight. I don't know if he'll come, though."
