Chapter 7 (Sven haha joke from chorus)
Half a heart.
I spent the next couple of days recovering and reading recommended books.
The fault in our stars was one of those books.
[a/n queue fangirls... Now... Go ahead comment]
I spent so many hours curled up crying, then laughing, then sighing and oh my gosh I was acting like some crazy hormonal psychopath.
[a/n no offense if you are a crazy psycopath]
I also spent my time with Zach.
I often caught myself staring up at him in disbelief.
How a guy like him, could love a girl like me.
Your flawless, Bailey Shale, remember that. Remember that when you look up at the moon. You are flawless.
And what about my scars? I'd always respond.
They're what make you imperfect. Your imperfections don't define you, they improve you, they only make you more perfecter.
Perfecter? I'd ask.
Yeah, perfecter, the definition of Bailey Shale.
I sighed. Memories.
We often had that conversation.
I'd sometimes ask him if he truly loved me.
"Do you enjoy breathing?" He asked me one time.
"Hah, what?" I smiled.
"Do you enjoy breathing."
"Well I couldn't live with out it." I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Imagine what it's like to have your breath taken away."
"Well Id die." I said.
He smirked. "Exactly. But my breath is taken away by you, I die when I see you, but it's a good kind of death. Cause I relive my love for you each and everyday. It's immortal and it will never die." He said.
"The bad kind of die, is if you leave me. If you decide to break and leave me I would die."
"But your a shelf."
"No, I'm the arms that hold you." He said.
"Right, you still have control over me." I said.
"But you have the decision, where if you one day realize I'm not your perfect match, and I'm not, there is someone better out there than me. I could bet on it."
I stopped him to kiss him.
"Zach, no one is better than you, and I would be honored to kill you, in a good way of course."
He laughed at that.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"This isn't a suicide pact right?" I said pulling back my pinkie.
"No, it's a, good kind of death pact." He said intertwining my pinkie into his and kissing me.
"Promise?" He whispered again.
"Promise. Hey, maybe promise can be our always." I smiled.
[a/n FROM THE FAULT IN OUR STARS ALL RIGHTS GO TO THAT QUOTE ALTHOUGH THE WORDS ARE MINE]
He looked at me with confused eyes.
"Hah, what?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing." I said rocking on my heels.
