We were parked outside the bank in one of the three black vans, six henchmen in each and of course Joker and I in one of them. Joker was sitting next to me, and for some reason he was drawing small circles on my lap with his finger. It was kinda calming down my nerves from what we're about to do.

"Harley would always get so excited before we were about to cause havoc for Gotham, and I would always do this to her to calm her down." Joker said, looking down at me.

"Well somehow it's working, though I'm not exactly excited." I sighed, staring down at the floor.

He chuckled as he grabbed my slightly shaky hand. He stood up and kicked the back doors of the van open. This is it.

"Alright boys, lets go." He shouted, laughing at the end.

We jumped out and headed over to the bank, Joker still holding my hand. Joker kicked down the entrance doors to the bank and yelled at everyone in there to get down.

When the people noticed me they to looked as if they had seen a ghost. I'm getting used to that now, somewhat. Joker walked over to the counter and demanded all the money, or else he'll kill.

The threats he made sent chills down my spine, it's s horrible. I stood nervously amongst the henchmen, who were all carrying machine guns.

Suddenly a black blur dived through one of the high up windows and landed in the middle of us all. Batman. Oh god no. Joker turned to face him with his arms wide open. Batman turned and looked at me, and instantly dropped the batarang in his hand.

"Harley? It can't be, you..." I heard him mumble under his breath.

"Nuh ah Batsy, this is the new queen of Gotham City. Haylee Quinn!" Joker said excitedly, singing out my name.

Batman looked back over at me and a frown was painted on his face. He mumbled something else but I couldn't hear him.

"Haylee baby come over here." Joker reached out his hand for me to take.

Nervously I walked over to him and took his hand. I still can't believe how soft and warm his grasp is. Joker twirled me around then pulled me up against his chest.

"You can't do this to her Joker, let her go." Batman said in a deep voice, which I can't tell is real or not.

Joker laughed at him and pulled me even closer to him, if that's even possible. I gripped the mallet in my hands tighter, getting the feeling something bad was going to happen.

Suddenly Batman lunged towards us, well Joker really. It's like some weird instinct kicked in and I swung the mallet at the Bat, hitting him right in the side of the head. He stumbled back a bit then fell to the floor, groaning in pain.

"Nice job doll face." Joker laughed.

Before I could say anything commissioner Gordon and his team came running into the bank, firing right at us. Joker's henchmen started firing back, but a few bullets were coming near Joker and me.

Commissioner Gordon then shot a bullet at Joker, and without thinking I jumped in front of him and took the bullet to the chest. I instantly dropped to the floor and my eyelids grew heavier and heavier.

Joker was standing next to the bed I was lying in, staring down at me. To him I looked asleep, but really I wasn't. I've been awake for a while now, and he's been standing there the whole time just staring at me.

Occasionally he would mumble some words but I couldn't understand him. My chest was absolutely killing me, it felt like I was being stabbed. Joker had removed the bullet and stitched up the wound, and I have to admit he did a really good job.

Lately he's been showing me a somewhat caring side of the Joker, and it's a little weird. But I'm also treasuring these actions, since I'm sure he's only like this to me.

"Why would you do that, hmm? Why would you take that bullet for me?" He asked my 'sleeping' self.

"I don't know, I just did." I answered softly, my voice a bit croaky.

He was a little shocked that I replied, since he thought I was still asleep. I opened my eyes fully and tried to sit up, but the pain was just too unbearable.

"How long have you been awake?"

"Long enough to know that you talk to yourself." I chuckled slightly.

He sat down on the bed next to me, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. I smiled up at him but he just stared back. He was thinking about something, I could tell by the look on his face, but I wish I knew what.

"You scared me doll face, for a while I thought I lost ya." He chuckled, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

I'm getting used to being this close to him, but I swear if he gets any closer I'll give him a black eye. Mind you if I do do that he'll most likely punish me.

"Ya know after all that I didn't end up getting my money. I also lost a few of my men. All because I was concentrating on getting you out." I can tell that he's annoyed, his tone says it all.

I dropped my head and looked down at my lap, but he gently grabbed my chin and lifted my head to look at him. I saw the same thing in his eyes the night I saw him from my balcony. Lust? I'm so confused right now.

"But I don't care, as long as my baby is okay." He caressed my cheek.

He then got up off the bed and headed over to the door, but he stopped before he left. Bud and Lou came running through the door past Joker and jumped up onto the bed, laughing their cute little laugh.

"I'll leave you to rest. And besides, Daddy has work to do." He smiled, then left closing the door behind him.

Daddy? Ha! No. He is nothing like that to me. Never has, never will. I patted the sides of the bed next to me signalling the hyenas to lay next to me, which is what they did.

I'm still in slight shock about what happened today, the robbery, the shooting, Joker's strange behaviour. It's all making me confused and is getting to my head. I don't know how much more of all this I can take.
