We pulled away and stared into each other's eyes. Again, I'm honestly not sure what you would call us, possibly more then friends. But I don't really mind.

I unwrapped myself from him and floated on my back again, my eyes closed and a small smile on my face. I wish we had a  peaceful life, then again I don't. Half the reason I stayed is for this kind of life. But I also really like this.

Suddenly gunshots could be heard from inside the house, a few screams as well. I stopped floating on my back and looked up at J with a worried expression. Anger was painted all over his face as he stared up at the house, a low growl escaping his lips.

"J, what's that?" I asked as he pulled me closer to him.

"I don't know doll face, but I'm going to go find out. Stay here, I'll be back soon." He said as he unwrapped his hand from around me and got out of the pool.

I did as he said and sat on the edge of the pool, my back facing the trees. As J was almost to the house I heard footsteps coming up behind me. I turned around to see a guy with a knife in his handwearing the same clothes as the guys who tried to kill me before.

"J! Help!" I screamed out as I quickly stood up before the man dived at me.

J turned back around and started running back to me, but this guy is definitely going to kill me first. Suddenly the hyenas jumped up and ran at the man, pulling him away from me and tackling him to the ground. In a matter of seconds he was dead, and his lifeless body flopped into the water.

Remind me never to swim in there again.

The hyenas ran up to me and I pulled them into a hug, tears rolling down my checks and blood dripping from theirs mouths. Then gunshots inside suddenly stopped and I looked up at J to see him still running over to me.

I opened my arms up for him and he picked me up bridal style and hugged me tight, our wet bodies sticking together. I rested my head on his chest and he gripped onto me tighter.

Why are these guys still after me? Is it because they failed last time? Why can't they just give up, they're not going to succeed, J won't let them.

"They're still after me, why?" I whispered as I moved my head to look at him properly.

"I... I don't know baby." He sighed as he started to carry me back to the house, the hyenas following closely behind.

"God dammit Haylee I almost lost you." He said in pure anger as he kicked the back door open.

I looked around the living room and there are dead bodies everywhere, some of them J's men and all the others Davis' men. I looked over at Jonny and we both exchanged small nods. He's a nice guy too, I know he'll protect me as well.

"They were Davis' men boss, after miss Haylee again." Jonny said as he walked over to us.

"I know Frost! One of them almost killed her!" J shouted at him.

"Just... just clean up this damn mess." He demanded in a more calm tone.

Jonny and the rest of the boys nodded and started cleaning up. J carried me up to his room, completely ignoring the fact that we are both dripping wet, and sat me down on his bed.

Damn his bed is comfortable, a lot more comfortable than mine. He sat down next to me and flopped back on the bed, growling in frustration.

"How you feeling baby?" He sighed as he looked up at me.

Oh yea, just peachy J. I almost got stabbed by this stranger who works for this maniac who wants me dead for some reason I don't know! I'm just great, thanks for asking.

"Shaken up a bit, just watched the guy who almost killed me get mauled to death. How are you?" I said as I flopped down next to him.

He sighed loudly and laced his fingers with mine. He turned his head to look at me, but I just stared up at the roof. He gripped onto my hand tighter, signalling me to look at him, which I did.

"Worried about the fact that I can't leave you alone anymore." He sighed as he kissed my forehead.

I probably won't be able to sleep tonight with all this running through my head. J got up and walked over to his wardrobe, then pulled out one of his button up shirts and threw it over to me. I sat up and put it on then positioned myself to sit up against the bed head.

J's room is really nice, and a lot tidier then I thought it would be. He has silky purple sheets to cover his king sized bed. An open door that leads to a huge bathroom, and he even has a balcony over looking the backyard.

He walked back over to the bed and cuddled up next to me, planting another kiss on my head. I know before I said I felt bad for feeling like this towards J, but that's what I'm here for right. I'm supposed to act like Harley did, and that's exactly what I'm doing.

Though I think I've gone past the roll, and made it a true reality.

"I'm sorry princess." He whispered into my nearly dry hair as he twirled some of it around his fingers.

"Sorry? For what?"

"I don't know, I guess I just would have blamed myself if you had of died today. Thank god Bud and Lou were there." He said as I moved my head to look at him properly, but he didn't look back at me.

"J look at me." He did as I demanded.

"None of that was any of your fault. None at all. There was nothing either of us could do about that okay, so don't beat yourself up for it. We're both here and both okay, that's what matters right." I said to him in almost a whisper.

He pulled me into a tighter hug and we laid down properly, me on top of his chest. I closed my eyes and listened to his heartbeat. It's moments like these that I treasure, mainly because i don't know how long this will last.

"Go to sleep princess. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I promise." I heard him whisper to me.

I nodded and slowly fell asleep. He'll protect me, I know he will. But I'll have to get rid of this 'not going to kill anyone' rule, or otherwise I might just end up dead.
