I placed the pudding down on my bed, I'll save it for later. I walked out of my room and headed out to J's office. I hadn't been in there before, so I had no idea where I was going.

I wondered down the stairs and into a hallways next to the living room. I slowly walked further down until I reached the door at the end.

It was a purple door, and the paint was starting to chip off. A large red smile was painted on the door too. 50 bucks betting this is his office, calling it now.

I reached for the handle, but then thought what if this isn't his office. What if this is his private room or something. So instead of opening straight away I knocked a couple of times.

"What!" I heard J shout from the inside.

Called it! I raised my hand to the handle and opened the door. I took a step in then closed the door behind me. J looked up at me from his desk, and the irritated look on his face disappeared.

"Ah there you are doll face. Come over here please." He said as he beckoned me over.

I walked over and stood beside him. He looked up at me in his chair and patted his lap, gesturing me to sit on it. Ah no thanks, I'm fine standing.

"Sit." He said in a stern tone.

Deciding I didn't want to piss him off and that I liked it when he was in a good mood I sat down on his lap. He snaked his hand around my waist and pulled me closer. I don't know why but a rested my right arm around his neck. I felt his stare on me as I looked down at my lap.

"You said you needed to tell me something important, is everything okay?" I asked as I looked up at him.

"I just wanted to say my apology in person, showing you that I mean it." He said as he started playing with my hair.

"It's okay." I shrugged.

I do somewhat blame myself for him hurting me. I did ignore him and to me it seems he didn't mean to hurt me like he did. He also did apologise twice, so it doesn't bother me that much anymore.

"No princess it's not okay. Look I'm sure you know by now that I used to abuse your sister. I honestly didn't mean to, it's just how I let out my anger. Before she came along I would always let my anger out on my henchmen. And since she was always with me I'd just lay it all out on her.

Now see that's part of the reason why you're here, so that I can have a second chance and not make the same stupid mistakes I did with Harley. I don't want to hurt you Haylee, I really really don't. I'm sorry princess." He tightened his grip on me, pulling me closer again to him.

I understand why I'm here now. Not to replace my sister, but so that J can somewhat fix his mistakes. He wants to treat me like how he should've treated her. That's great for him and all...but I'm still not happy about being here.

He planted a small kiss on my forehead then repositioned the chair closer to the desk. I could feel my cheeks blushing slightly from his actions, but not enough for him to notice. He picked up a pen then started writing on a piece of paper in front of him.

His office walls are a light purple colour with dark timber flooring. There's a couch by a window on the opposite side of the room from us. The wall to our right is covered in papers, blueprints and newspaper articles pinned up to it.
