POV: Kate
"Kate, wake up." Catie said while rubbing my arm.
I raise my head up off of her chest and immediately get blinded by the sun that is seeping through the curtains. I groan, causing Catie to chuckle.
"We have to get ready for school."
"I don't want to go to school." I groaned as I laid my head back on her chest.
"It's only a half day." She laughed slightly which made me smile.
I groaned again. I don't want to fucking go to school. Jake is going to be there and try to cause trouble.
"Come on Kate." She said as she rolled out from under me and I whined due to me now being cold.
She walks over to my side of the bed and pulls me out of bed
"Catie, let me go back to sleep." I whined.
"I'm waking you up." She huffed when I didn't get out of bed, but then jumped on the bed and proceeded to jump as close to me as possible. When I nearly flew off the side of the bed I quickly got out of the bed.
"I'm awake, I'm awake." I yelled with wide eyes.
"Are you sure?" Catie looked down at me with her hands on her hips.
"Positive." I put my hand on my heart. It scared the shit out of me to say the least. Definitely woke me up.
"Okay," She hopped down from the bed with an accomplished smirk on her face.
I calmed myself before getting ready. That is one scary human being.

As usual, Catie made me take the inside of the seat so she can protect me easier.
The bus stopped abruptly at my brother's stop and I instinctively tense up. Every muscle and bone in my body locks up. Catie noticed and grabbed my hand and held it. I squeezed her hand even tighter when I felt the bus shift from Jake stepping on.
A huge bruise is on Jake's face from Catie nearly killing him. She noticed it and her smirk grew even bigger. He slowly walked down the isle, trying to strike fear in me.
Jake sat down in the seat across from us and looked at Catie and me. His feet were in the isle as he leaned his elbows on his knees.
"We missed you last night." Jake said in a very low tone.
"Too bad the feeling isn't mutual." I spat, grasping her hand even tighter. Catie kept staring him down, her face relaxed. Showing no fear nor aggression, even though I know it's building up as I feel her calf muscle flex against my leg.
"You're gonna have to come home eventually, might as well do it today." He shrugged.
"She doesn't ever have to step foot in that hell hole again, nor will she." Catie said in a low and intimidating growl, her jaw now clenched.
"I don't think dad would be very happy about this girlfriend you have here. He is very homophobic as am I." He said while gesturing to Catie.
"She isn't my girlfriend." I spat even though in the back of my mind said 'yet.'
"Then why are you holding hands?" He shot back in a relaxed tone.
"Because I'm comforting her." Catie said aggressively.
"Why would you want to comfort that? She's a piece of shit tha-" Jake stated but got cut off when Catie's fist connected with his nose, blood immediately pooling out of it. She did some kind of backhanded punch and holy shit I'd hate to be the one getting hit by that.
