POV: Kate

She just left after grabbing a gun. Just up and left. She is a fighter, that's for sure. She's taken over twenty-five lashings from a whip, been stabbed multiple times, and has had bone broken from getting the shit kicked out of her, yet she is still going. Nothing stops her from helping and saving. Nothing. She literally took lashings from a whip just to be with me. She got stabbed so I wouldn't get beat anymore. This girl is my hero, my love, my hope, and my heart. She better not die on me either, because I will them personally resurrect her just to kill her again.

"I should've gone instead." Catie's dad mumbled.

"No, Catie wants you to be here to protect me. She doesn't let anyone have that job but her. She is a fighter, and mom is too." I smiled at him. I didn't even realize I called Catie's mom 'mom' till I said it, nor do I care. She is my mom now. More so kinda mother in law, kinda.

"I just don't want either of them to get hurt. It's my job to protect them." He mumbled.

"Catie is a fighter, and I'll be damned if she gets hurt in a basement, because then I will have to kill her. I'll have to." I threw my hands up to make him laugh, and I succeed.

"She picked a good one." He smiled at me before getting up off of the couch and going to his room.

POV: Catie

"I can pick locks. Just give me a second and we'll be in." I whispered to my mom as I fiddled with the front door handle.

"How do you know how to pick locks?" My mom muttered in a mom voice.

"Eh, you pick up a few things after getting your ass kicked and being kidnapped." I shrugged and I heard her sigh from behind me.

The door clicked and I slowly turned the handle.

There aren't any cars in the driveway, but that doesn't mean anything.

It was pitch black. The only light was the dim moonlight creeping through the curtains.

I motioned for my mom to follow me as I took my gun out of my waistband. We crouch walked to dodge the moonlight.

My brain instinctively mapped out the familiar building, so I began to head towards the basement.

Faint voices could be heard, but I couldn't depict what was being said.

My mom's hand was on my shoulder as I picked the basement door lock.

I'm just happy that the floors don't creak and that there aren't any cameras. I've looked everywhere as we walked. Even the rooms that were slightly opened to make sure the floor was clear.

My hand slowly brought the thin screw driver up to make sure the click wouldn't be loud.

I stepped back just a little so the basement door could open just enough for my mother and I to slip through.

"I almost got your sister today too, but no! She just had to recognize me!" A familiar voice said before a loud clinking chain noise crashed below us, which I used to my advantage in case the stairs creak so we wouldn't be heard.

My eyes locked onto the camera that was hanging in the top corner of the room. We weren't in its line of sight yet, but close so I made sure my mom and I hugged the wall tightly as we continued our path down the stairs.

"Why do you have to be so numb? Answer me!" Oliver yelled once again before the loud chain crashed again.

"Because she is smarter than you will ever be." A sort of familiar voice responded. It sounded so weak and fragile, yet it pushed to stay strong. "It's only a matter of time till she finds out where you are and what you are doing."

No, it can't be him. He died.

I looked back at my mom to see her dead still and her face blank. She thinks it's him too.

But I saw his lifeless body. His casket was closed, but he was in the hospital bed.

"That isn't the answer I wanted!" Oliver yelled once again before the chain clashed again against the concrete floor.

"When will you realize that the chains don't hurt me anymore?" The familiar, weak voice slightly chuckled.

"Shut up!" Another loud clashing noise rung in my ears for the last time.

I stopped caring if the stairs creaked and I just rushed down the stairs to see Oliver standing in front of someone who was chained to the wall. I still couldn't see who since Oliver was blocking my view.

My feet fearlessly carried me to Oliver with my pistol aiming at his head.

"If you move you are as good as dead asshole!" I growled loudly.

Oliver flinched and the chains dropped to the ground before he turned to face me. My eyes were locked onto him. If I look somewhere else he can make a move.

"Back up against the wall now!" My voice was filled with authority and I could see my mom jump a little too at my outburst.

"I told you. She is more of a hero than I could ever dream of being." The familiar voice said from behind me.

My mom broke down into tears, but I didn't budge.

"If you don't get on the ground face down in the next two seconds I will shoot you." I growled lowly and he frantically nodded his head as he got down on the ground. "Turn your head away from me and lay your hands out to your sides. All the way out." I snapped as he hesitantly followed my orders.

My gaze quickly shifted to the handcuffs that hung shamelessly on the metal hook in the wall. I held the gun in one hand, still pointing at him, as I snatched the handcuffs.

"Right hand behind your back!" I yelled.

He quickly followed my instructions.

I dug my knee into his spine harshly as I handcuffed his right wrist. His grunt in pain slightly annoyed me, so I made sure the cuff was incredibly tight around his wrist.

"Left hand behind your back!"

I clicked it into place before grabbing the chain he was using as a whip, so I could wrap it around his ankles.

"If you move, even a little, I will shoot you, and you know I will not hesitate. I've killed before and I'm not afraid to kill again." I growled.

"Holy shit," The familiar voice said just above a whisper from behind me. "You did kill the other one."

I turned to face the origin of the voice with my eyes closed.

My eyelids hesitantly parted and my gaze locked onto him. His body was bruised and broken. Blood pooled from several different parts of his body. Some wounds were new and some were old.

My jaw slacked and my body froze as my mom wrapped her arms around him as she bawled her eyes out.

"I knew you'd find me one day. I'm not your hero. You are mine." He smiled weakly at me.

"A-Andy?" I stuttered and he smiled with all of the strength he had in him and nodded.

My mom backed up and watched Oliver as I ran to him. "I would hug you back, but I can't." He smiled into my neck.

"Do you know where the keys are?" I asked him as tears began to stream down my face.

"Not a clue Catie girl." Andy gave me a smile and I broke down at the old name. "I always knew you would grow up to be a strong woman, and you've grown up to be more than that." Tears began to stream down his face.

I quickly picked the locks that locked his wrists to the wall and he immediately pulled me into a hug.

"I missed you so much Catie girl." Andy cried into my shoulder.

"I missed you more Andy." I choked out.
