Just to restate, this book is rated MATURE because it deals with sensitive topics such as depression and suicide. If you are not comfortable with that, I recommend not reading this book.
This book also has some mistakes because it is not edited and was written in the span of two years. My writing style changes by the ending of the book so just keep that in mind. There shouldn't be any huge plot holes but there are a few mistakes I made because I forgot what I wrote before.

Chapter 1 - Not a Freshman
I hate being enrolled into a new school. It's like everyone knows you're "the new person"- as they call it- and all they want to do is stare at you. No one wants their classmates staring at them like they're their prey.
It's not that I'm a freshman or anything but I might as well be. Maybe I can just act like no one ever noticed me and that I'm not new. But as soon as someone finds out that I'm new, goodbye my high school reputation. Plus I'll have to be here for another year as long as my dad doesn't get a new job offer.
"Well, we arrived a little bit later than I planned but that's okay," My mom laughed it off while unlocking the car, "Hurry up and get your stuff before you're late, (Y/N)."
Without wasting any time, I swung open the door and thanked them quickly, slinging my bag over my shoulder. As I ran to the front doors, I silently cursed at the school uniform that my parents made me wear. Never in my life have I went to a school where I had to wear a uniform that they assigned everyone. Normally, whenever I went to school I would wear something more... comfortable. I'm not saying that I don't like the uniforms here, it's just that I'd rather wear my normal clothes.
I let out a sigh of relief when I saw students walking around and talking to their friends. That means I'm not late. As I glanced around the room, a teacher caught my eye. Thankfully, he wasn't surrounded by many other students so it was okay to approach him without being stared at. "Excuse me, sir," I said, walking up to him.
"Ah, another new student that needs help," He said, "What do you need help with?"
"I don't really know where to get my schedule," I said, trying to keep my voice down.
"What middle school did you come from?"
"Actually, I came from a high school."
"A high school? Well, did your parents pre-register you?"
"I have no clue," I told him, getting annoyed from all of his questions.
"Well, I'll assume they did. That line over there," He pointed to one of the stands, "is where you will get your schedule."
"Finally. Thank you," I told him, rushing over to the line.
I really hope I'm not going to be late to class, that would be terrible.
"Look at all these freshmen," I heard a person from my right chuckle, "They're so... small."
I looked over my shoulder and sent a glare to the person with raven hair. The blue-eyed teenager met my gaze and raised his eyebrows in amusement. I hated it when people talked behind someone's back.
"Oh, someone's a little feisty."
I huffed and turned my head, looking forward.
"A little freshman wants to act up, huh?" Another person said beside him, his head twitching a bit.
"A little freshman," I scowled, "Look a bit closer."
"Has a bit of a temper," The Raven pointed out, the edge of his mouth turning up into a smirk. I watched from the corner of my eye as he stepped closer, "Is something wrong, little dove?"
'Your face is what's wrong,' Is what I wanted to say but I decided that if was better if I just didn't respond.
"Well?" He continued, becoming annoyed from my lack of response.
Please just let this line be over with so that I can leave! If this one freshman wasn't taking so long maybe I could get out of this mess!
"Too scared to stand up for yourself?" He questioned me, leaning over me a bit to try and intimidate me.
"Yeah, right," I scoffed, "As if you would scare me. You just seem like an average high school pric-"
"Next!" The person in the stand called out to me, suspiciously eyeing the ignorant teenage boy and I.
"Hi," I smiled at her, turning away from Mr. Arrogant.
"Hey!" She greeted me back cheerfully, still seeming kind of awkward whenever she would glance behind me. "What's your last name?"
"(L/N)."
I watched as she looked through the files on the table, scrambling between two before looking up at me in confusion. "Are you a freshman?"
"Actually, I'm a senior, I just moved here."
I saw Mr. Arrogant's eyebrows rise when I mentioned that I was a senior, making me smile a bit. Not such a little freshman, am I?
The lady handed my schedule with a smile, to which I returned it.
"A senior?" Mr. Arrogant's female friend question, "Well that's interesting."
"For a senior you seem a bit short," Mr. Arrogant smirked. I rolled my eyes, scoffing at him.
"Sorry but I actually care about my grades and need to get to class. If you want some company, you can talk to the principle about it having enough credits to graduate." I smiled and waved as I took a step back, about to walk away.
"Wait little dove, we're not done here," Mr. Arrogant said, reaching out to grab my arm.
"Gene!" A squeaky voice rang through the room.
Mr. Arrogant (I guess his name is Gene), groaned, retracting his hand away from me and rubbing his head like he had a headache.
"Gene, I want to join the shadow knights!" The kid boasted, trying to look confident.
I gave the kid a smile, finding his confidence cute. What I wasn't expecting is for him to look over at me, only to give me an icy glare.
Dang, is everyone here this rude?
"For the last time, the answer is no. Now leave me alone-"
"But Gene, I'm qualified-"
I chuckled, taking the opportunity to walk off without Gene noticing.

I'm thinking about writing this fanfiction in first person instead of second person if that's okay. Do you guys like first or second person better?
Anyways, I hope you liked chapter one and I'll see you in the next chapter! <3
