Chapter 8 - Mission One
"Be ready, my little delinquent."
I groaned and banged my head on the desk for the fifth time. What is wrong with me? I can't get his words out of my head.
I keep wondering what he's going to make me do. Spray paint the walls of the school, steal from a convenience store, get kicked out of a movie theater, anything is possible with him!
No, what I really need to think about is how to get back at him. I know he's going to set up something terrible so I need to do the same for him.
Possibly baking a cake? That's not enough, he'll just end up throwing the flour everywhere.
Giving a compliment to everyone he sees in school? That's a good one but he'll probably glue his eyes shut if I make him do that.
I'll make him have dinner at my house. I grinned at the thought, imagining him being all dressed up and shaking hands with my mom. If he actually manages to keep up the nice act, then my mom would stop bugging me about how he's 'such a bad person'.
Now I have to find out what he wants me to do.

"If it isn't my Little Dove."
I groaned and turned around, glaring at the teenager. "What do you want?"
"I have a task for you," He responded, a mischievous smirk on his face.
I glanced at Sasha and Zenix behind him; their snickers didn't make me feel better.
"And that is?"
"You'll see," He said as he grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the school. I didn't really have a problem with it given that school ended for the day but his grip was a bit tight.
"You're going to give me a bruise," I told him, sending imaginary daggers into the back of his head.
"Aww, Little Dove is going to get a bruise," He teased, pretending to pout.
"Oh shut up!" I snapped, making Sasha and Zenix 'Oo'.
Gene only rolled his eyes and continued forward to the park that we went to the other day.
"What in the world would I do here?"
"Stop asking questions," Gene scoffed, rolling his eyes.
I began to get nervous as we got closer to the kid's playground, the elementary school kids screaming and prancing on the equipment.
"Mission number one," He smirked at me, "scare those kids over there."
I narrowed my eyes at him and pursed my lips. "There has to be more to it than that."
He chuckled, "Well, this is your first time being so troublesome so might as well start it off with an easier task."
"Is there a particular way you want me to scare them?"
"Well your face alone will probably do it." I gasped and slapped his arm angrily. "Hey, you asked!"
I turned to face the kids on the swings, seeing them laughing and betting who could swing higher. Those would be the easiest to scare right? They can't really look behind them that well.
Carefully, I snuck around the playset, trying to look as unsuspicious as possible. When I turned around, I couldn't miss the amused look on Gene's face. I mouthed a 'screw you' to him.
In response, he mouthed an 'I'm so scared' while waving his hands.
That little-
I let out a short gasp as I jumped back right before the swing hit me. Those things are weapons, I swear. I almost saw my life flash before my eyes.
Thankfully, the little boys on the swing didn't notice.
Now, what was I going to do to scare them?
I watched the boy on the left as he swung, his hands tightly gripping onto the chains beside him. He'd probably be the best victim since he was holding on the best.
Without wasting any time, I went up behind him, not too close but just enough so that he didn't hit me.
As soon as he was starting to swing forward, I decided to give him a bit of a push to startle him. Unfortunately, I may have startled him a bit too much.
The kid screamed as his hands slipped from the chains, causing him to propel forward.
Luckily, I was able to get in front of the swing in time to catch him. When I say catch him, I mean to let him use me as a cushion as he fell to the ground.
I let out a pained grunt as he landed on me, all of his weight landing on my stomach. I thought I was going to pass out for a second but I was brought back with the boy's laughter.
"That was the best! Can you do it again?"
I looked up at him with a puzzled look, shaking my head profusely.
"Time to get up, kid," Gene chuckled as he lifted the little boy off of me.
I held my stomach as I got up from the ground. "That was worse than when my brother accidentally threw a basketball into my stomach."
Gene let out a deep laugh, earning a deep glare from me.
"You weren't supposed to hurt the boy, Little Dove."
"Hey! I just did what you told me to do!"
"I never said to push a kid off of the swing!"
I rolled my eyes and dusted off my shirt, trying to ignore the laughter I hear coming from around me.
"Why did you bring Zenix and Sasha," I groaned, glaring at them as they laughed.
"They wanted to see you mess up as much as I did."
I sighed and grabbed my backpack before grabbing onto Gene's arm. "Now you have to do what I tell you to."

Hey, so it's been a month.
I'm so sorry I haven't been active. I've been so busy with school that I haven't been able to do anything I wanted. Regardless, I hope you like this chapter. Since it's testing week for me, I don't have as much homework this weekend except for studying (which I don't really do).
I hope you all have a wonderful day/night, I love every single one of you <3
