Salty tears burn my eyes as I sink to the floor, my whole world has crashed down on my shoulders and I don't know if I can take it. With my palms sweaty and heart racing, I look up into his eyes and choke out "How are you out of french fries?!"

The football game is today, meaning Jacob will be there.
Why did I just notice this?
The ball rang indicating school was over. I walk out of the classroom and put away all of my things. I have to wait until the game starts, so what do I do in the meantime?
I look around the hallway as students exit the school, maybe I should take a walk around?
I start walking down the hallway, looking at all the posters and lockers in boredom. Is this really how I'm gonna spend my two hours?
I stop in my tracks once I notice Jacob standing at the end of the hall, I walk up to him with a faint smile on my face. Now would be a perfect time to apologize to him.
"Hey! Jacob!" I call out before running up to him, Jacob looks at me with wide eyes and looks around us as if he were afraid someone was watching, weird.
"H-Hey Grace." Jacob stutters, looking down at his feet. Just when I was about to say something he cut me off.
"I wanna say sorry, I didn't know you had a boyfriend." Jacob apologizes, wait, boyfriend?
"Oh he's not-"
"Well I gotta find the guys, we gotta get ready for the game!" Jacobs says, looking down at his bare wrist as if there were a watch sitting on it.
"Bye Grace." Jacob smiles before running off to God knows where. That was confusing as hell, he thought James was my boyfriend?
I sigh before sitting against the wall, I turn on my phone and scroll through my Instagram, this is so boring. I huff out before switching apps and start playing Candy Crush.

"Hey Cece, ready for the game?!" Charlie asks, jumping up and down as we exit the school doors.
"Oh trust me, I've been ready for two hours now." I roll my eyes before making our way to the stadium, it was fifteen minutes before the game, some people were in their small groups, some parents were there, chatting.
"Okay, I'm gonna go get us some snacks for the game, you go find us a seat, okay?" I nod and make my way towards the stadium, I love the seats at the very top. There's no populars, it's clear and you get a fantastic view of the game.
I sit down and wait for Charlie to come, whilst waiting I look over to the gates and notice a very familiar guy standing and looking around.
"James?" I whisper in confusion, what is he doing here?
I stand up and look down at him, that's a first, he's always the one looking down at me. Once he catches my eye, a big grin appears on his face causing me to roll my eyes.
I watch him as he makes his way over to the stadium and walks up the stairs, great, he always has to ruin my night.
"Why are you here?" I ask, my left eye twitching in annoyance.
"What? I can't enjoy a simple football game?" James asks with a smirk plastered on his face with just frustrates me even further. He's testing my limits and he knows it.
"Jame-" I get cut off once I notice Charlie walking up the metal stairs, connecting eyes with me and shooting a confused glance towards James.
Charlie gives me a look that says "what's he doing here?". I shrug and look back at James.
"The games starting now, if you're gonna stay then just sit." I sigh defeatedly, of course James chose to sit right beside me. Charlie glares at James before sitting on the other side of me.
I already know that this game is going to be an interesting one. With a possessive James sitting right beside me, and a field filled with sweaty teen football players, I know this won't end well.
"Hey what snacks did ya get?" I ask, leaning forward in interest. Charlie holds out a bag of sour patch kids, mini kit kats, butterfingers, reese's pieces, and twizzlers.
"Omg thank you so much Char!" I gasp, grabbing all of the sugary treats in my arms with excitement.
"No Cece you can't have all of it!" Charlie whines, stealing the kit kats and sour patch kids. I frown deeply and huff in defeat. Now all I have is butterfingers, reese's pieces, and twizzlers?!
"Hey Grace, give the butterfingers to James." Charlie says quietly in my ear, I silently groan before throwing the candy bar at James face.
"Awe-"
*cue the continued cursing*
"Who threw that?!" James yells, cradling his nose.
"I did." I say softly, hoping he wouldn't get mad. It wasn't my intention to hit him in the face. I wanted the candy bar but Char wouldn't let me have it so I got mad.
James looks at me and immediately his eyes soften. Why isn't he mad? I just hit him in the face.
Suddenly his phone starts ringing violently in his pocket, he looks down at it with wide eyes causing me to give him a look of confusion.
He ignores the look I gave and picks up the phone quickly.
"Hello?" He asks with his eyebrows furrowed.
"We found them." I hear a deep voice emerge from the phone.
Who are they talking about?
"We found the kidnappers."
Instantly James jumps up and runs down the stairs, he was out of the stadium in two seconds flat. I had this urge to follow him, were they talking about his little sister?
"I'll be back." I tell Charlie and run down the steps and through the gates. I pushed my legs further and further to keep up with James strides. He runs like a cheetah. That was probably a bad comparison but I couldn't care less at the moment.
I watch as he jumps in his car and shoves the key in the ignition, without thinking, I hop in the shotgun seat.
"What're you doing?" James asks, I ignore the sudden hurt I felt and answered "Because, I wanna be here." I smile softly, James gives me a small smile and gets on the road. I swear I saw tears in his eyes but I push it away.
