Zeke thrusts another mug into my face. I push it away and send him a glaring look.
"You need to sober up." Zeke orders.
"No. I'm fine now. I need to go to SHIELD to find that stupid disc." I argue.
Standing up, I place the mug of coffee onto the table. Zeke watches me with confusion and worry. I pick up the set of car keys on the counter by the front door. Ward pulls them instantly from him, I turn to face him and send him a daring glare.
"No way are you driving. You should sleep and go to SHIELD tomorrow." Ward suggests.
"No way am I going to be able to sleep while some stranger has a disc that contains all the pain and agonising I went through." I point out.
"Fine. But I am driving." Ward orders.
Reaching SHIELD, the entrance doors spring open and I scan my card, opening the barriers. I step through and pass Zeke my card so he can get in. Catching the elevator, I jump out at the right level and step straight into the briefing room.
The walls are dark, almost black, and on one wall is a giant touch screen smart board with pens lined on the bottom. In the middle of the room is a black table with a touchscreen tablet built in the top. Around the table are numerous black leather chairs. On one side of the table sits a few Board members, they are noticeable by the jet black band around the top of their arm. Each of them glares at me with concern and guilt. All of them sit with notepads lied in front of them and pens in their hands.
"Good evening." One of them says. He smiles quickly at me and clasps his hands on the table in front.
"Hello." I mutter.
Zeke pulls out a seat for me and I quickly sit as he sits beside me. Ward sits on the other side and hands me a pen and notepad from under the table. In the middle of the table, the screen bursts into life and shows a photo of the silver disc.
"Miss Stark, you must be honest here. Did you take the disc?" one of the Board members asks.
"No. My husband delivered it on Wednesday." I point out.
They all glance at each other before writing quickly in the notepads. I sigh quietly and glimpse at Zeke. He sits straight and doesn't break eye contact with the Board members in front. He squirms slightly in his seat until I place a gentle hand on his knee. He looks at me for a second, a small smile on his face and he stops fidgeting.
"How can this disc go missing? You're the most secret agency and you have the best security possible. How can it go missing?" I question.
"An Agent was on his way to delivering it to us and he was murdered in his car." One of the members says. He whispers the word 'murdered' and I force myself to look away.
"You should have got a better Agent then." I mutter.
"Skye!" Zeke scolds next to me.
"You know what? You guys obviously can't handle this and I am not letting whoever has this disc keep it. I am going to tell you now, I will break numerous SHIELD rules but I don't care. I am getting that disc back, without your help or stupidness. I'm going off the clock." I explain.
Standing up, I storm out of the room and slam the door close behind me. I know Zeke will tell them some excuse and defend me. I got what I needed. Glancing at the watch on my wrist, I hold down the button on the side as I talk into the microphone.
"Did you get all of the files, Jarvis?" I whisper.
"Yes, miss."
Okay, so I didn't plan to shout at them and walk out. But, I did plan to stay in there just long enough for Jarvis to hack into all of the files and data they haven't told me.
