Zeke pulls out of the driveway and races out of sight. Captain sprints down the corridor and skids to a stop on the gravel driveway in front of me. He places a hand on either of my arms, forcing me to look at him.
"Skye? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Captain questions.
I look up. My eyes meet his. The realisation of my pain hits him and he quickly shrugs off his tux jacket. Placing it on my cheek, he leans a hand on my shoulder and gently pushes me to sit down on the stone steps outside the hall. Agents buzz past me, racing inside with guns ready.
"Did you shoot him?" Captain asks, crouching in front of me.
"Z-Zeke." I whisper.
"What about Zeke?"
"He did it." I mutter.
Bowing my head, Captain sits beside me and wraps his arm around my shoulder, while holding his jacket on my bleeding cheek.
"It's okay. You need to tell me where he went because he's probably hating himself right now?"
"He drove away." I announce.
"Drove? Okay. We'll sort it." Captain promises.
A team of paramedics arrive and one of them tries to pull a breathing mask over my head.
"No. I don't need it. Cap, tell them." I argue, clinging to him tightly and trying to push them away.
"Her breathing is fine." Captain says, slipping his hand from my shoulder to my back.
The paramedic nods and kneels in front of me, slowly taking off the jacket from my cheek. I can see the blood reflect in his eyes and it drips down my face, onto my dress.
"You have to find Zeke, Cap, please." I beg.
"I will. I will find him." Captain whispers, kissing my forehead lightly.
The paramedic places crocodile stitches over my cut and hands me a leaflet about what to do. I hand it to Captain and slips it into his pocket.
How could I let Zeke drive away? When I killed the first time, actually seeing him die in that hotel, I felt like I wouldn't be able to stop. I felt like a killer. What if Zeke does something stupid?
"I need to find Zeke! Before he hurts himself." I argue.
Standing up, Captain begins to argue at me to sit down. The paramedics start to shout but I push my way past them. The Agents start to flow from the celebration, just realising that something has happened. Captain races to my side, then jumps in my way, as I step onto the stairs leading to the driveway by the entrance.
"Cap, move." I order.
"I'm taking you home." Captain says.
"I need to find Zeke."
"I'm taking you home to have a shower and calm down." Captain argues, slipping his arm around my back and leading me to his black car.
"But, what about Zeke?"
"Agents are looking for him. Come on."
Captain opens the car and gently pushes me into the seat, he then pulls the seatbelt over and clips it into place. Closing the door, he walks around and sits in the drivers side, turning on the engine. Leaning my head on the window, Cap pulls out of parking and starts down the driveway. The last I see is Abi stood on the steps, arguing with another Agent and then she looks at me, confusion and sympathy written on her face.
Captain pulls into our driveway, the house empty with no lights on and no one inside. He turns off the car and races to the passenger side, as he opens the door and I step out. Cap slips an arm around my waist as I scan my thumb on the door lock.
