*Zeke's POV*

Skye's scream echoes in my head, causing my ears to ring and my heart to stop beating for a single second. I don't think. Just act.

Sprinting forward, I slip on the ice and skid onto my knees. There's a huge hole in the ice and I can just see the top of Skye's head. Leaning forward, I push my arms in the freezing water and wrap my arms around Skye's waist. Using all my strength, I pull Skye up and swing into my arms. Ignoring the sound of the remaining ice beginning to shatter, I run to the edge with Skye shivering in my arms.

Reaching the snow, I kneel down and place Skye in my lap. She begins to shiver in my arms, placing her hands together and over her mouth while breathing into her cupped hands. The goosebumps appear all over her skin as her lips begin to turn blue. Pulling off my jacket, I quickly wrap it around the top of her body and zip it closed.

"Skye, tell me what to do. Please, I don't know what to do." I whisper, wrapping my arms tight around her limp body as I try to stop her shivering.

"I-I d-don't-t k-kn-now." She stutters, her jaw shaking uncontrollably.

"It's going to be fine. SHIELD will be here in a minute and everything will be fine. I promise." I mumble, regretting the words the second they roll of my tongue. How can I promise that?

"Y-you n-need-d d-destroy th-the d-disc-c."

"I will. I will. Let's get you sorted first, okay? I'm not loosing you over some cold water."

"S-so c-cold."

"Stay awake, please baby you need to stay awake." I whisper, watching her eyelids flicker shut.

"T-tr-trying."

"Skye, please, I need you with me. I can't loose you. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you." I admit, planting a desperate kiss on Skye's icy cold forehead.

Then I feel her go limp in my arms. Her eyes close. Her breathing slows. I feel her last breath on my cheek and then nothing.

"Skye? No. Please no." I beg, tears trickling down my cheeks continuously.

"Baby, please wake up. Don't leave me please, Skye."

Tears flow down my cheeks as my fingers begin to shake. I rub one of her cheeks with my thumb, wiping the coldness from her pale skin. I brush my lips against hers, hoping for her to kiss me back but I feel nothing. My heart tightens inside me. I can't loose Skye

The car screeching grabs my attention, raising my head Ward jumps out of the car, stopping as he sees me with Skye draped in my arms. Numerous Agents sprint over, followed by paramedics. I feel them pull Skye from my arms. I try to fight back, kicking and yelling at them.

"No! Don't take her away from me! Please don't take her away from me!" I shout.

One Agent grabs each of my arms, pulling me away. My knees buckle beneath me and I hit the snow. Paramedics crowd around Skye's body, they wrap her in a foil blanket and begin CPR. I watch her body shake with each push on her chest and it rise for a single second as they attempt to breath life back into her body.

"No. No no. It's my fault. I shouldn't have let her become a stupid Agent." I whisper.

A hand touches my shoulder. My eyes meet his and I see the sympathy burn bright. I couldn't control myself. The anger boils in my veins an trickles down to my hand. Involuntarily, my fingers turn into a fist and I swing at Ward. My knuckle connects with his nose and he groans loudly.

"This is all your fault! She's dead because of you!" I scream.

Hands grab hold of my waist and arms, pulling me off Ward. My eyes dart back to Skye. The paramedics lift her off the ground and place her in the back of a black van. They lock the door shut and get ready to leave.
